Social House To Socialize Once More This Summer at The Crystals

Strolling around The Crystals on Sunday we were taking notice of the changes to the place since we were last there in December, and we were tickled to see that Social House has put up its signage on the second floor of the luxury mall, next to Mastro's Ocean Club.
It looks like those rumors were true. The Pure Management Group may try and play things close to their chest but our experience has been where there's smoke, there's fire.
Social House will re-emerge from hiding this Summer. We have to say, from a space overlooking the cheestatic pirates and sirens show at Treasure Island to the swanky Crystals is quite a social climb. Congrats!

What’s the Latest With Social House?

Over the summer, VegasChatter dined at Social House at Treasure Island one night only to find out that it was one of the last nights that the restaurant would be open. The waitresses informed us that they had only heard about the closing themselves as they came into work.
After some tussle with the folks at PURE, who denied to us that the restaurant was closing, we learned that the Social House closure was 100 percent official, with the intentions of it reopening elsewhere on the Strip at a later date. (It closed on July 5.)
At the time Social House closed, Pure representatives said the decision had nothing to do with Phil Ruffin’s purchase of TI from MGM/Mirage. It was a business decision, they insisted. Still, one can certainly speculate (especially since representatives from TI did not return calls seeking comment).
So far, there’s no news on where or when the place will reappear. Although we've heard whispers that Social House might make a move into CityCenter when it opens in December.
Nevertheless, the old Social House space received new life on Aug. 10, when TI opened Khotan, a pan-Asian restaurant.

Social House at Treasure Island To Close On July 5

VegasChatter Exclusive
Folks, it is now official. Social House at Treasure Island is shutting down on July 5 at the close of business. An anonymous tipster has passed along a letter about the fate of Social House employees. The letter, written by an employment and labor law firm on behalf of Pure Management Group, goes over all of the sticky issues of dismissals, discharges and wages. It even says to hand out this notice to employees:
The operations of Social House at Treasure Island are being discontinued by Treasure Island effective the close of business July 5, 2009. Accordingly, your last day of working at Social House at Treasure Island will be July 5, 2009.
There seems to be some potential problems over who is the employer of all these Social House employees. While Treasure Island is the main employer, there are some instances where PMG could be considered a joint employer, especially if it plans on taking some of the Social House employees to another PMG venue. What all this really affects is how the Social House employees are going to be paid their owed wages.
Simply put there's a lot of legalese to wade through and we feel really bad for the employees that have been put out so suddenly. So we suggest you get on over to Social House tonight when it opens and remember to tip your servers generously. You might want to hit it up every day until it closes on Sunday, just to get your fix. And we're still not quite sure where Social House plans on relocating.
Have you heard anything new or different about the fate of Social House at TI? Let us know.

Will Social House at Treasure Island Walk the Plank?

VegasChatter Exclusive
MUTINY UPDATE: Looks like there is some serious swashbuckling going on at TI. A rep for PURE has just told us simply, "Social House is not closing." Meanwhile, we are still hearing that it is indeed closing as will Christian Audigier. We'll keep you mateys posted.
When we dined at Social House inside Treasure Island on Saturday night, we casually asked our server if the restaurant was closing or not, based on what we had heard last week. Much to our surprise we found out the restaurant was closing the next day.
Apparently, all the employees at Social House had just been told this bit of news on Saturday before their shifts began.
While the news that Social House would be closing was not shocking, the fact that they would shut down so suddenly was a bit of a jolt. The servers seemed pretty upset about it but said they were told that the restaurant would relocate elsewhere on the Strip. However, employees told us that they were bugging out a little bit about some new security cameras that had been installed in the restaurant.
We haven't been able to get official word from either TI or Pure Management Group that the restaurant has closed so there could be hope yet for Social House, a favorite sushi spot on The Strip. But judging from the new plans to "revitalize" TI, we won't get our hopes up too high.

Social House at Treasure Island Could Be Closing

And so the nightclub rumor mill keeps on churning, although this time it looks like there are some verifiable changes happening within Treasure Island. Remember when we wondered what nightclub on The Strip would be closing and there was a second property that could be affected? Well, this might be it.
Las Vegas Weekly's Nocturnal Admissions column has poked and prodded Pure Management Group about Social House, the sushi restaurant and happening late night spot off the casino floor. LV Weekly found out that PMG may actually drop Social House from its roster due to some "to-do between PMG and the IRS." However, PMG will retain rights to the name "Social House" and keep on the chef Joseph Elevado with the hopes of taking it to another property or even another city.
PMG also operates Christian Audiger at TI and while there aren't any big changes going on there yet, it's always a possibility, especially in this economy.
Meanwhile, LV Weekly notes that another PMG club, LAX at The Luxor, will close Thursday nights except for special events. Clubbers can instead can hang out at the intimate Noir Bar which is attached to LAX.

The Social House is a True Find...at Three in the Morning

Since Las Vegas is a 24-hour town, then it is only fitting that we start recommending places for the night owls. Sure, many travelers to Sin City instinctively know where the late-night hotspots are but we thought we would make it just a touch easier for the rest of you. So for starters, we will highlight the Social House at Treasure Island
.Some of you may already know the Social House as a popular Pan-Asian restaurant with a high end dress code and the assorted fancy trimmings, but were you also aware that this joint turns into a sleek, sultry lounge that serves sushi and wine until the wee hours until dawn on Friday and Saturday nights?
We kid you not, especially about something as entertaining as this. That is because the Social House lounge is that cool and rare thing - a posh bar that exudes class but leaves the pompous attitude outside. With good music, a nice area to roam and dance, and a general clientele that is toney but still approachable, you almost cannot go wrong with this one, especially when you realize how (relatively) affordable their sake and wine list is.
Better still, the view on the patio is stellar overlooking the Strip with subtle sophistication. In summation, just get there.
