Well, if you attend the Golden Rainbow's, 24th annual "Ribbon of Life" fundraiser , you can see performers from several Las Vegas shows, all at the starting ticket price of $25.

Hungry? Time to Start Fantasizing About Vegas Uncork'd
Garden of the Gods + loads of food = happy us
Is it too tenuous a link to say that it’s exactly three months till the last day of Vegas Uncork’d? We’re going to say no, seeing as it’s breakfast o’clock right now.
The Bon Appetit-sponsored annual foodie bash is returning from 6-9 May this year. What to expect? Thirty events “blending the worlds of food, gaming and entertainment in the distinct way that makes Vegas so memorable.” Or, as we would put it, eating yourself silly for four days.

Five Ways to Bed a Cowboy During National Finals Rodeo
Tonight continues the fourth night of the National Finals Rodeo and if you've got your heart set on bedding a cowboy before it all ends on December 12, here are five totally unproven ways to do it.
1. Tell 'em you got tickets to see Garth Brooks on December 11th. It doesn't matter if that's true or not. You just need to hook 'em in for the night and you'll be gone when the morning comes.
2. Do not talk about animal cruelty. Actually, this one we did try. Cowboys will argue that the horses they use to lasso in rodeo finals are actually fat. "They eat better than me," one told us last night. Again, if you wanna bed him for the night, just nod your head and say yes.
3. Stay at the South Point. This is where a ton of cowboys are hitching their trailers when in town, thanks to the hotel's own equestrian center inside. If you can't get a room, um, skulk the hallways?
4. Do shots at Toby Keith's I Love This Bar at Harrah's. No explanation needed.
5. Buy stuff at the Cowboy Christmas Show. The shopping "extravaganza" is open all week from 10am to 5pm in the North Halls of the Las Vegas Convention Center. Besides, shopping for a new pair of cowboy boots could lead to all sorts of sexy discussions. Not sure we can say the same for cowboy poetry.

Howdy Pardner! The Rodeo Comes to Town Next Week

Generally speaking, when we write about cowboys, the word refers to pocket kings in a game of Texas Hold ‘Em.
This time, however, we’re actually talking about honest-to-goodness cowboys; the kinds that chew tobacco, listen to Garth Brooks, wear ten-gallon hats, lasso rabid bulls, ride around on horses and walk around in spurs.
A contingent of some of the best cowboys from all over North America will be in town next week for the National Finals Rodeo at the Thomas and Mack Center Dec. 3-12. The event, hailed as the “Super Bowl of Rodeos,” is the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association annual championship.
Over the course of ten days, the NFR features the Top 15 competitors in each of professional rodeo's seven events: saddle bronco riding, bull riding, bareback riding, calf-roping, team roping, steer wrestling and barrel racing.

Local Gal Wins Monopoly's 'Advance to Go' Contest in Front of Bally's

Today we rolled by Bally's to check out the oversized Monopoly board that they had put up in preparation for the World Monopoly Championships on Wednesday. But the 25'x25' board wasn't just for folks to walk around on and take goofy pictures.
The game board was actually the scene of the Monopoly’s “Advance to Go” a promotion from Harrah's Entertainment where 50 finalists for a cash prize of $50,000. Set aside the jokes that you might have that they were paid in Monopoly money, this really was the true deal.
In the end, it came down to five players who were had to compete right on the Strip just shy of the noon hour to a vocal, good-natured group of tourists who were more than taken with the charming aesthetics of it all - oversized replication of the Board, human tokens, leggy showgirls and oversized game cards.
But there could only be one winner and the game was won by the justifiably ecstatic Kim Heinan of Las Vegas. Considering that the champions of the real Monopoly tournament might not take home that much money, we think that's an awesome payout. But we wonder if Bally's is gonna convince her to spend the money at a Harrah's property like they do when you win a slot machine jackpot?
Remember the World Monopoly Championships kick off on Wednesday at 8:30am. at Caesars Palace.

Justin Timberlake is in Town, But Will Jessica Biel Be?

If you weren't keeping up with the Vegas stalker twitterati (Norm, Robin, et. al) Justin Timberlake has been in town all this week hosting the annual Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open at TPC Summerlin.
JT played in the Celebrity Pro-Am on Wednesday with golf pro Anthony Kim and he will present the trophy to the winner of the real tournament on Sunday. But before that, he'll be doing what he does best--bringing sexy back at the Mandalay Bay tomorrow at 8:30pm.
But it won't be a solo show. Snoop Dogg, Taylor Swift, Alicia Keys, Ciara, what's left of TLC and Jay Sean will perform alongside him. Even better, JT is donating proceeds from the show to the Shriners Hospitals for Children organization. With ticket prices starting at $250, we sure hope he can reach his goal of $1 million.

The Monopoly Championships Roll Into Town Next Week

The game of Monopoly might be overplayed right now--there are themed Monopoly board games for seemingly everything under the sun from Disney to sports teams to even Juicy Couture, the maker of overpriced velour sweatpants. And of course, even Las Vegas has its own glitzy edition.
But we can still dig up some excitement for 2009 Monopoly World Championships coming to Caesars Palace next week.
To kick off the festivities on October 19th, an oversized replicated Monopoly board will be set up against the Strip in front of Bally's on October 19 measuring 25'x 25' with human Monopoly tokens (dressed up as the hat, dog, car, shoe and thimble) and oversized Chance and Community Chest cards in play. 50 pre-selected finalists will have a chance to compete in the qualifying first round of the Advance to GO competition.
The game is pretty easy. Each finalist will be given a scroll. Five players will play for the $50,000 Advance to GO prize. The remaining 45 finalists will receive cash prizes based on the scroll they receive. The minimum prize is $500 so the odds are way better than piling money into a Wheel of Fortune machine.
Then on October 21, the real competition begins.

The Mirage Celebrates 20 Years With People Who Were Famous 20 Years Ago

Perhaps to distract you from the new $15 resort fee that was implemented today at the The Mirage, the casino hotel first opened by Steve Wynn is throwing its official 20th Birthday Bash tomorrow hosted by someone who peaked in fame 20 years ago--Slash. He will be joined by other late 80s stars like Rick Nielsen of Cheap Trick, Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry, and Keifer Sutherland, who will actually be the master of ceremonies. (Quick, someone get Kiefer a Christmas Tree!)
The festivities will kick off tomorrow night at 9pm at the Bare pool lounge and an all-star performance from Slash, Courtney Love, Led Zeppelin drummer Jason Bonham, Guns N’ Roses drummer Matt Sorrum, the Pussycat Doll's Nicole Scherzinger and American Idol star Chris Daughtry will go off at 10pm. (Initially, Adam Levine, Tommy Lee and Rob Zombie were set to perform as well but had to cancel.) There's also supposed to be a special celebrity performance as well.

Justin Timberlake Brings His Golf Game Back to Vegas

JT is bringing sexy golf games back. For the second year in a row, Las Vegas will host his Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open. The tournament, which is part of the PGA Tour but not one of the events from which players can earn points toward the FedEx Cup, will take place October 12-18 at TPC Summerlin.
Timberlake himself will play in the Pro-Am tournament on Wednesday, October 14, the day before the pros’ tourney gets under way. Returning to defend the title he won last year will be Marc Turnesa, competing against a total field of 132 professional golfers, including No. 5-ranked Heath Slocum and No. 9-ranked Kenny Perry. Celebrities competing in the Pro-Am include Smokey Robinson, Kenny G, Phil Helmuth and LPGA player and Vegas native Natalie Gulbis.

Drink for a Cause at Rhumbar’s Pink Sugar Mondays
Rum is, according to some, the new “in” beverage, and Rhumbar at The Mirage was Vegas’ first venue to seize upon the public’s evolving tastes. From the chilly austerity offered up by vodka (still our favorite, we must admit) to the warm, sugary, Caribbean-esque sensory experience offered by rum, it seems cocktail-making might just be turning into an altogether more sultry affair.
That doesn’t mean it also can’t be a responsible undertaking, too. At Pink Sugar Mondays at Rhumbar, you can enjoy specialty cocktails off their menu (prices range from $8 to $14), and $2 of the purchase price will go to the local affiliate of the Susan G. Komen breast cancer fund.
