What Wynn's Going To Do 'After Dark'

Where: 3131 Las Vegas Boulevard S [map], 89109
October 30, 2012 at 10:02 PM | by | Comments (0)

Boxing and Las Vegas have long gone together and just because it is the lamer older bro to MMA doesn't seem to be knockin' fans out with those American thighs poolside at Cosmopolitan any longer doesn't mean this writer's given up on finding the perfect venue to break his virgin fight cherry.

The Wynn wasn't one spot we expected to have the opportunity to consider. Fancy water shows, yes. Country, check. But, the most stitches we ever expected to see on display at Wynn/Encore walked the NHL red carpet earlier this year. So, real live boxing at the Wynn versus on the TV sounds like news to us, even if high school field hockey ranks higher on our list of favorite spectator sports.

Tickets Still Available, At A Discount Even, For NBA In Vegas

Where: 3950 Las Vegas Blvd. S [map], 89119
October 3, 2012 at 2:42 PM | by | Comments (0)

The NBA is finally coming to The Strip. The league's inaugural Strip appearance is a meaningless pre-season game but, hey, at least it's not a matchup between teams named the Sparks and Mercury. The LA Clippers take on the Denver Nuggets this Saturday at 7:30 p.m. inside the Mandalay Bay Events Center.

Perhaps, it may as well be an ABA game though since a 25% ticket discount hit our inbox just days before the big game. The discount only applies to seats at the $150 price level but, as of this writing, tickets for every budget are available. $25 (plus taxes and fees) puts fans in the nosebleeds top section of 308 -- but, hey, first row! Bump it up to $500 per seat (say it with us -- "plus taxes and fees") to score a seat inches from the floor.

You Can Finally Score at Luxor Now

Where: 3900 Las Vegas Boulevard [map], 89119

It's starting to feel like sleepy Luxor is yawning, stretching and slowly waking up. An often overlooked destination, we're noticing some rumblings inside the pyramid.

There's zipline fever, the Jabbawockeez are taking a tortuous route to bring their show here in 2013, a newly re-vamped food court (that we've already reviewed) and, now, Score! Be the Legend has opened phase one of its interactive sports fan experience. We went for a quick snoop around and instead won a grand tour from CEO Jim Beckmann. The whole place will eventually be 10,000 square feet, but they've opened up a stand-alone section to get the machine rolling. And, we have the details.

Bagatelle Looking To Hire, Sister Venue Heraea Coming To Palms

May 11, 2012 at 1:45 PM | by | Comments (0)

Bagatelle is coming soon to the Tropicana, but it looks like it won't make its "target" Memorial Day weekend opening.

A hiring poster on the venue's Facebook page is looking for the usual "model positions" of cocktail server, restaurant server, bartender and more, but the line "opening June 2012" caught our eye the most. (But, if the help wanted part interests you more, a job fair will take place May 14-16. Details are in the flyer we snagged and posted below.)

How We Dooz It When It Comes To Prop Bets

January 31, 2012 at 5:57 PM | by | Comments (2)

The Super Bowl Big Game is getting closer and we're getting way too excited.

Our list of Big Game parties continues to grow. While we still don't know where we'll watch the game, we've been looking more closely at all of those Big Game prop bets that are available. Since 400 is a bit much to read through, we've sectioned the bets into four categories so we don't get overwhelmed (Giants, Patriots, Game, Mixed Sport) and will be narrowing our betting options from there.

Super Bowl XLVI is Set, Let The Betting Begin

January 23, 2012 at 12:40 PM | by | Comments (0)

Last week, we said we were in for the best football games of the year with the Conference championships and we were right. Both the Giants and Patriots won their way to the Super Bowl. There is little rest for the wicked as the big game is less than two weeks away. While we can understand that some people across the nation are tired of the New York and Boston sports rivalry, this should make for a fun Big Game matchup.

Minutes (literally, minutes) after the Giants defeated the 49ers game last night LVH released their lines for the game. The Patriots begin wagering as a 3 point favorite over the Giants. LVH set their total at 53 points scored:

VegasChatter's Guide To Big Game Parties

January 18, 2012 at 8:41 PM | by | Comments (2)

The Big Game will be kicking off before you know it. So, in between brushing up on your sports book know-how and catching the other big games, take a moment to decide just where you're actually going to watch the Super Bowl in Vegas. And, do it before everyone else does.

VegasChatter has been stockpiling every party notice we've received, and searching the Internets for ones that may not have come our way, in order to create the biggest Big Game guide ever. Ok, maybe not ever since we only have nine ten 11 12 13 15 16 17 18 22 33 35 parties right now, but since Wikipedia is down, we're going to go ahead and claim it.

From cheap eats to all-you-can-drinks, here's how to have a Super Sunday in Vegas. And, make sure to keep checking back as we'll continue to add additional parties as they are announced!

The Real Big Game(s) Ahead

January 17, 2012 at 7:35 PM | by | Comments (0)

The Super Bowl is a special day in Vegas. It's one of the busiest weekends all year. The Super Bowl is also known as the "Big Game" for contractual reasons (the NFL won't let companies use the name unless they pay), but here's a secret -- the Super Bowl isn't really the big game. The best day of football is ahead of us. This Sunday. The AFC and NFC conference finals are typically the most fun to watch in the entire NFL season.

Score At The Luxor This Fall

Where: 3900 Las Vegas Blvd S [map], 89109
October 25, 2011 at 4:53 PM | by | Comments (0)

Get ready to see Tommy Lasorda in one more Vegas hotel soon.

A recent stop through Luxor found a huge construction wall for Score! which seems to be a combination of a memorabilia museum and an autograph hall.

A tagline touts "hall of fame exhibits," "legendary appearances," and "live broadcasting," too. A trip to the venue's website, scorelv.com, found not much more info other than the fact that there's free VIP passes to be won... whatever those will get you.

A Facebook page shows the concept has been in the works since at least June, with the last post back in August. Looks like we'll have to see if an opening of "Fall 2011" is as much of a slam dunk as advertised.
