It looks like you might have to wait just a little bit longer to get Nobu sushi delivered to your room at the Nobu Hotel at Caesars Palace. Previously, we heard the hotel would be opening in the summer but according to this new report from Forbes, a fall opening is much more likely. Don't know if that means September or December, though.
But, everything else seems to be on track. Renovations are currently going on inside CP's old Centurion Tower under the watchful eye of today's most in-demand hotel designer, David Rockwell, and, when the work is done, a new 180-room, 16-suite Nobu Hotel will emerge. And, yes, the hotel will mimic the style of Nobu Sushi restaurants:
If [Rockwell's] signature style for other Nobu spaces is any indication, natural elements found in the Japanese countryside (birch trees, running water features, river stones and wood flooring) combined with sleek finishes are likely to be found throughout the hotel, its restaurant and lounge.

In the face of horrific tragedy, it can seem trite, even opportunistic, when Vegas restos, shows and personalities chose to publicly do something to show they care. But, we'd like to believe that Vegas can be heartfelt, too, even if a wee bit self-promotional.
Goss' "Song For Japan" posted on YouTube yesterday:
As the tragedy in Japan continues to unfold in heart-wrenching detail after a massive 8.9 quake, a Vegas sushi restaurant is doing its small part to aid with relief. And, you play a huge role.
Every time a diner noshes on a specially created $12 sushi roll at SUSHISAMBA, the Palazzo resto will donate the entire cost to the Red Cross. If you're not coming through Vegas anytime soon, the charity roll is also available at sister SUSHISAMBA locations in New York, Chicago and Miami.
If you prefer to skip the roll, The New York Times lists 12 other ways you can help provide relief to survivors.
Sushi, how we love you so. Maybe not as much as that British actor who says he dropped seven pounds by eating one piece a day (and nothing else), but we still heart you a lot.
Now, SUSHISAMBA wants to teach us some sushi skillz of our own. The Palazzo resto recently launched "SUSHI + SAKE 101," bi-monthly classes for the roll-inept, but you'll need a bit of a bankroll in order to sign up.
It's not all about sushi. You can socialize while picking the watermelon off your BBQ "Tocino" Baby Back Ribs.
We’d hoped the chefs hadn’t completely lost their mind over the past year as we expected the taste to be fab again. And initial buzz is that the food is just as we remembered. Only now instead of watching pirates jumping ship, “patio” seating here overlooks Versace in the Crystals mall, while inside you will be greeted by an oversized bird’s nest. Whatev - as long as the food is great.

Good news! There's just one more week until you can sink your teeth into a juicy yellowtail roll from Social House, the sushi restaurant that used to be over at Treasure Island but will now re-open on June 30 in a new space at The Crystals.
Over on its Facebook page, Social House has been getting all kinds of social with its fans (or is that Like-ers?) by dropping sneak peeks of the restaurant and its newly redone menu. So far all we've seen is a couple of interior renderings and the menus for hot dishes and cocktails.
But we're not going to lie, the garlic-oil seared kobe dish they posted today has us nearly ready to camp out in a lawnchair in front. (Don't think that would go over so well at The Crystals.) Sigh. We'll just have to wait until June 30. The countdown is on.
Nearly a year after Social House was forced to walk the Ruffian plank at Treasure Island, the sushi restaurant from PURE Management Group is about to rise from the depths and resurface inside The Crystals inside CityCenter.
According to this tweet, Social House will open its doors again on June 30.
The menu will be overseen by executive chef Joseph Elevado who has trained under Chef Nobu Matsuhisa. Elevado promises a lot of the old Social House specialties but also some new dishes inspired by recent travels to Southeast Asia.
The look and feel of the restaurant will also be very much the same, according to the Social House website. So we're guessing we can expect a lot of wicker bird cages at the bar again. But seeing that it's inside The Crystals, near Mastro's, we wonder what will the view be like? Maybe overlooking The Sirens show wasn't so bad after all?
Hard to believe it’s been ten years since yours truly spent New Year’s Eve at the first-ever SUSHISAMBA restaurant in New York City (man, what a way that was to ring in the new millennium).
To honor the brand’s diamond anniversary, SUSHISAMBA restaurants all over the world are throwing epic parties next week. SUSHISAMBA Strip, the Las Vegas outpost located inside the Palazzo, will host a killer bash on Nov. 18.
The night begins with a private party at 9 p.m.; public festivities start at 10:30 p.m.
Tired of overpriced sushi joints? The Strip certainly has its fair share. Some of these well-known, nicer sushi restaurants, though, are letting the little people be able to afford a roll or two. Thank God for Happy Hours!
China Grill in the Mandalay Bay has a Dragon Sushi happy hour. From 5 pm to 7 pm, select sushi rolls are half priced and select cocktails are discounted. Just make sure you sit in the bar/lounge area; this deal doesn’t happen at tables in the dining area.
