The calm before the storm at Jet tonight
Tonight’s a busy night in Vegas clubworld, and to mark it, they’re having another Kardashian-Jersey Shore standoff. Robert Kardashian is celebrating his birthday at Jet, and Pauly D is DJing at Ghostbar at the Palms. The RK hotness or the fist-pumping hot mess – the choice is yours.
If you want to stay clear, Soulja Boy is at Eve tonight (overload – he was at Jet only in January), Travis Barker is at Pure (should be interesting) and Jerome Bettis (oh-kay) is having his 38th birthday party at Tao.
Seem to remember there’s something going on at Caesars tonight as well, but it just slipped our minds.

Nightclub Awards Tell Us What We Already Know: Vegas Rules
It's like, "Duh." Of course Las Vegas nightclubs would be snatching up all the awards for this year's Nightclub and Bar Awards winners form the Nightclub and Bar magazine.
Nightclub of the Year distinction belongs to Tao while the year-old XS at Encore won both New Club of the Year and Mega-Club due to its two levels of VIP seating, gaming area and outdoor pool area. Blush at Wynn won the Ultra-Lounge of the Year award and Palms DJ Paul Oakenfold won Best Resident DJ. Even the Hard Rock got in on the action with it's raunchy party-reality television show hybrid which won for Ongoing Promotion of the Year.
Nightclub news flows as regularly as the stream of redbull vodka from Sin City's bars and clubs but we expect even more news will surface later at the Nightclub and Bar Convention next month. We hope attendees get serious drink discounts.

The Porn Expo Will Be Sexing Up The Nightclubs This Weekend
A dirty Kayden Kross. See what we did there?
Something tells us that the action in Vegas this weekend is going to be pretty full on – and not just because of the CES lot being in town. The Adult Entertainment Expo is, of course, also going down this week – and the people behind it are throwing a variety of bashes around town.
Tao is particularly hot for the pornies, with AVN parties on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Thursday – the “official Adult Entertainment Expo Networking Party” - will be hosted by Sasha Grey, the convention’s keynote speaker. Friday it’s the turn of porn star Kayden Kross, and Saturday, Stormy Daniels (hurrah for a proper porn star name) is throwing an awards after party bash. Cover is $20 for Thursday and Saturday, $30 for men on Friday. Local ladies get in free every night.
Which to go for? Something tells us that the extra $10 for Kayden Kross will probably be worth it in terms of dirt - quite literally, going by her (we hope) muddy face in the promo pic. Although we're intrigued by the notion of porn industry networking. Let's make it a toss up between the two.

Where to Make It Ladies Night Tomorrow
Fiddy? Yawn. Pete Wentz? Pur-lease. John Mayer? Only if he zips that mouth shut and turns his Twitter feed off. It’s fair to say that the men hosting New Year’s events tomorrow aren’t the hottest cakes in the celebrity cake box. But that’s ok, because when it comes to the ladies, they’re pretty fierce.
There’s Christina Aguilera at Tao, of course, but she’ll set you back a bit – tickets are currently shifting for $260, or $277.90 once you figure in additional charges, and she’s “hosting” rather than “performing” so you may not see her getting dirrty.
If you can’t afford to pop that genie out of its bottle (sorry), Eva Longoria Parker is hosting at Eve at CityCenter. For $150, you get hors d’oeuvres from Beso, bar from 8-11pm and a champagne toast (at midnight, we assume). Lay down $3500 (plus tax and gratuity) and you’ll get a VIP package for six, including a magnum of bubbly and two other bottles. Which kind of beats the $25k Fiddy meet-and-greet over at PURE (although that’s for 10 people and gives you eight bottles). And don’t forget, it’s actually Eva’s party, so with her name on the line, she’s going to make it a goodie.
Or don't forget Nicole Richie is hosting the hoedown at Lavo, and this actually sounds pretty good value – you get hors d’oeuvres, “basic open bar” and speciality cocktails from 9-11pm, champagne at midnight, Joel Madden as guest DJ, and entry to both Lavo and TAO after midnight. Either that means Xtina will be gone by then, or we’ve just worked out how to save $100 to her party. Cheers ladies!

Nicole and Joel Will Take Over Lavo for New Year's Eve
All the stars are coming out for the New Years Eve soirees in Sin City this year. We're kinda surprised that Paris, LaLohan and Brit Brit haven't staked claim on hosting any parties - yet. There's still time and we know these three never pass up an opportunity to kick up their Louboutins in Vegas. Here are three more options to add to your NYE party consideration list:

New Year's Eve Parties Pack Lots of Celeb Power
We have mad organizational skills that put Julie the Cruise Director to shame, but even we can’t compile everything that’s going down in Las Vegas on New Year’s Eve, so you’re gonna have to settle for bite sized installments. (We like lists.)
We don’t want to tell you what to do (we’re so not the boss of your social schedule), but we have one rule of thumb. If you’re thinking of ringing in the new year in Vegas and you want to make sure you can get into a specific party, buy your tickets now.
Why? We’ve learned the hard way that the closer it gets to the big date, the higher the ticket prices are hiked. And guys, since in many cases, you’re already paying two or three times the face value of tickets compared to the ladies’, we’re guessing you don’t want to get price gouged any more than absolutely necessary.

Get Dirrty With Xtina at Tao on New Year's
No matter what time of year, there's usually a celebrity (loosely used term) hosting or performing at a nightclub every Friday and Saturday night in Las Vegas. In fact, it's so routine that we're not even impressed by half the celebs that roll through. But New Year's Eve is an entirely different story. This is one of the biggest holidays in Vegas and the celeb quotient is upped impressively.
This year at Tao inside The Venetian, Christina Aguilera will be hosting the festivities. Tickets are currently being sold for $150 per person which includes entry to the massive club, open bar, hors d'oeuvres and a champagne toast at midnight. And while you will be breathing the same, hot, sweaty air as Xtina herself, don't hold your breath for a performance.
Typically, celebs "hosting" a party means they will kick it in the VIP area and come out once or twice to wave to us plebs below. And that's all that you will get to see. But we bet the DJ will be queuing up Xtina's biggest hits. "I'm a genie in a bottle baby...."

There’s never a dull moment on the Vegas nightclub scene, and we’ve got Sin City DJs to thank. Here’s a rundown on three of the hottest DJs in town, complete with their takes on their own style, and the inside scoop on what to expect from their shows.

Mounting Pink Evidence That Tao Is A Decent Hook Up Spot This Summer
What Happens Here, Stays Here...sometimes, literally. A party-goer at Tao Beach at The Venetian earlier this summer noticed some...er...delicate undergarments on a low wall near the pool.
Now, before we pull out our Jump to Dirty Conclusions mat, let's consider some possible, more innocent scenarios:
· Perhaps the underwear simply fell out of a lady's pool tote--where she was stashing her change of clothes--by accident and someone picked it up off the ground and flung them on the wall.
· It has been really hot in Vegas lately, maybe even too hot for underwear. So a nice young woman decided to remove her panties, scrunch them up into a ball and place them on the wall outside Tao.
· Someone beleaguered fashion assistant could have dropped these as he/she was carrying a batch of clothing for an impromptu fashion show that often happens at Vegas pool parties.
Ok, fine. None of these probably happened. More likely, someone just got down and dirty and stripped off their panties. And there you go. Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas. Still, it's probably better than anything you'd find the day after a Rehab party at the Hard Rock Hotel.

Where to Shake It In Vegas
When the 2009 Club World Award winners (yes, there is actually a Club World Awards) were announced in Miami recently, it was no surprise to see a few Vegas-familiar names on the list. After all, Las Vegas nightlife these days has every bit as much to do with where you’re shakin’ it than who’s shakin’ it for you.
Tabú Ultra Lounge at MGM Grand was named best lounge (and also Best Bottle Service), and Body English at the Hard Rock Hotel was honored for Best Sound System. Tabu is an undeniably cool place to go. Between the tunes and the interactive projections thing they have going and the servers moonlighting as models, it’s easy not to be seduced by the experience. Body English is beautifully designed and the aforementioned sounds are great.
But we don’t really go to a club for the sound system, so here are a few of our recommendations.
