Royal Ambassadors Can No Longer Raid the Minibars at The Palazzo and Venetian

Just the other week, our big sister HotelChatter let us know about a very baller perk of InterContinental Hotels' upper echelon loyalty program tier, Royal Ambassadors--raiding the minibar.

To demonstrate the perk, The Points Guy, aka Brian Kelly, filmed a video of himself doing that exact thing at The Palazzo.

In a town where nothing is truly free, this pillaging perk seemed too good to be true. And alas, it is. Perhaps spurred by the video Brian did for HotelChatter, the powers that be have decided to limit the minibar madness to just a $100 credit. HotelChatter commenter RicGarrido pointed this out:

Certain 'Ambassadors' Get to Raid The Minibar at The Palazzo Free of Charge

When The Palazzo and The Venetian announced their unusual partnership with InterContinental Hotels, we weren't quite sure how we felt about that aside from the fact that now anyone with lots of Priority Club Rewards points could earn and use free nights in Vegas.

How to Get to Vegas For Almost Free

The more you save on your trip to Vegas, the more you can spend in Vegas!

UPDATE: Expedia has pulled the miracle discount coupon. Ugh. But you should follow The Points Guy on Twitter for more tips on getting to Vegas on the cheap.

One of our trusted travel advisers, The Points Guy aka Brian Kelly, recently Twittered this amazing deal from Expedia on Friday:

Major deal alert: Vegas flight and hotel for free (or close to it). Go to expedia.ca, choose flight+hotel & use Voucher SAVE300

Naturally, we thought the catch here was that you had to be Canadian since the Expedia url is Canadian. But The Points Guy told us any city works. He himself booked a flight from JFK to LAS and one night at Bally's for just $27, INCLUDING TAXES.

And our Jaunted editor is doing Christmas in Vegas from Dec. 22-26 with a flight from JFK and four nights at the Hard Rock for only $170. TOTAL.

The coupon is entirely legit but the check-out process at Expedia is a bit of a nightmare. However, you should enter the voucher code SAVE300 right when you enter your credit card info and the deductions will then appear.
