Tweet of the Weekend: Richard Abowitz Speaks To Paris Hilton For All of Us

It would be remiss of us, we feel, to not choose a Paris Hilton-related tweet this weekend. And much as we’ve loved all the OMG PARIS LOLLLL tweets been doing the rounds, we’ve picked two, both of which come from one of our favorite Vegas writers, Richard Abowitz, who’s been on fine form during the whole affair.

Usually we concentrate on drunken antics for our Tweets of the Weekend, but yesterday someone tweeted about something we feel very strongly about: show booking fees. Specifically, Ticketmaster booking fees.

We get that ticket agents can’t live on air and all, but it’s getting ridiculous. We’ve seen $40 tickets rise to $55, $35 to $50, and now @jayfenster has summarized the situation thus:

Can we blame Gaga? Vegas fashion was on Twitter’s mind this weekend – and we’re talking Vegas fashion mistakes.

We’ve warned you about Casino Foot Syndrome before (ie casinos are bigger than you think, your feet will hurt if you wear your sluttiest heels) but it seems like you ladies are still trying to do yourselves an injury by trekking the Strip in your heels, and it seems like you’re still taking them off and going barefoot when you get drunk, tired, and uncomfortable, according to @djtinat, who came to the rescue of sluts girls everywhere with the following riposte:

Remember, people, it’s hot out there. And what does the heat do? As well as getting you frazzled and turning you into a human showerhead, it makes you drunker quicker.

Case in point: @kimwmodel, who started her Saturday with these words:

Of course I would get so drunk yesterday at the pool, security had to wheel me to my room! Wow! Only in Vegas*.

She then slept through the concert she was meant to be going to that night – so remember, people, it’s just not worth it. Especially seeing as it was only the Flamingo pool. If you're going to do that, you should at least make it Rehab or something.

Is the lure of the Jersey Shore finally beginning to fade? We ask because by the looks of Twitter this weekend, Jwoww didn’t go down so well.

First there was this one from @mrbobbybones:

Just sat at a blackjack table next to jwoww. She looks 40 plus and gross. And smoked like a chimney. Los couldn't stop staring.

And then this one from @closthemexican:

I just tried to get a picture with JWOWW. She said NO! What?!!!

And finally this from @_HollieRose:

omg I can't take JWOWW and her las vegas advertising crap anymore when is it gonna end?!?!?!?! @JENNIWOWW

Maybe it’s just that Jwoww’s fans were having too much fun (possibly snogging The Situation) to tweet. At least, we hope so. We're not ready to see her go just yet.

They’re all well and good, these pool parties, but they’re a bit taxing on the body. Do you stay up as late as you normally would the night before and risk passing out from heat/alcohol the next day? Or do you tuck yourself up early in order to enjoy the money you’ve thrown down on your cabana?

Someone who was struggling with that conundrum this weekend was @vivamoz_steph who was out at 3.20am on Sunday morning when she tweeted this:

Fuck, trying to get sober so I can make it to the encore beach club tomorrow @11am...fu$#in' Groove Armada will be there :)

No word on whether she made it, but seeing as she appears to have awesome taste in music (The Smiths, New Order), that might be for the best.

The Greyhound Station is as Sketchy as You Thought It Would Be

If you didn't already know, Las Vegas has a 24-hour Greyhound Bus Station in Downtown, near the Plaza Hotel and Casino on Main Street. And it is just as sketchy as you would expect a 24-hour bus station in Vegas to be. Here's this tweet from UrDoing2Much86:

Drunk bitches n tha greyhound station early. I forgot i was n vegas. Lmao.

Actually, that doesn't sound much different from any casino floor next to a hot club at 2am. Except you know, it was 8am and it was the Greyhound station.

Having been out with some World Series of Poker players this weekend, we were aware they were dark horses when it comes to letting their hair down at the end of their $180k wins.
