Slotzilla, the multi-story zipline experience that now towers over Neonopolis at the far end of the Fremont Street Experience, has a certain glow about these nights. What it doesn't have about it anywhere, though, is signage telling us when we can give it a try. So, how do we know it might debut soon? Well, while we haven't been able to find an opening date, we have discovered that Slotzilla did issue a hiring call on Craigslist about a month ago. And, was still looking for folks as of this week. The attraction was originally due to open in June.
While it's still possible a handful of venues may make their debut at The Linq -- the new outdoor mall under construction between The Quad and Flamingo -- by year's end, we've been able to confirm that many of the businesses won't open until early 2014.
Back in September, we shared the rumor that tenants were pushing back their move-in dates until The High Roller opens. Nervous business owners were allegedly concerned they wouldn't generate enough revenue without the foot traffic only the world's largest observation wheel would bring. That seems to be legit as we've reached out to every confirmed outlet and many have responded with the same target debut timeline:

The Quad's website still heralds it as coming soon in late 2013, but we don't need a trip to
Flavor Town The Strip to tell you that Guy Fieri's forthcoming restaurant is another Vegas delay in the works.
Also still in the works? Its name. There have been reports that say it's Guy's American Kitchen like his NYC outpost, but a Caesars rep confirmed to us there is no official name yet. They hope, however, to announce one next month.

After a once anticipated debut of spring, the Downtown Container Park has instead arrived in time for the holiday shopping season. Well, at least some of it.
The flyer below proclaims all the shops and eateries expected to open today at 1 p.m. PST, but even this list was a bit too hopeful.

More specifically, according to us (by way of Bolt Barbers), Monday, November 25 at 1 p.m.
You know how this next part goes. Container Park. Yadda, yadda. Supposed to have opened. Yadda, yadda, yadda. Yep, let's just say its arrival is way past due.
Construction / Openings / Vegas Delays / Venetian / Palazzo / B And B Burger And Beer / DBGB Kitchen And Bar / → All Tags
Hungry for new experiences in Vegas? So are we. But, as is often the case, we'll need to wait a while longer than what was once promised. Here are updates on four Vegas venues with TBA timelines:
B&B Burger and Beer (Venetian)
Having missed a once touted September debut, look for B&B Burger and Beer, coming soon to Venetian by Chef Mario Batali, to open next month. Under construction in the space formerly occupied by Rattlecan near the sportsbook, head here for -- now this is a wild guess -- burgers and beers.
DBGB Kitchen And Bar (Palazzo)
The second DBGB Kitchen and Bar outpost of Chef Daniel Boulud was due to open late this year, but now it sounds like 2014 is where it's at. When we asked a Venetian spokesperson for an updated timeline recently, we were told there wasn't one. Since Valentino, the eatery it will replace, just closed at the beginning of this month, we're going to go with early 2014 here. The first DBGB Kitchen can be found in NYC.
Pinkberry (750 S. Rampart)
A summer opening changed to by December and now, sadly, Las Vegas won't see its second yum-tastic Pinkberry location until 2014. A new inquiry to the froyo chain has provided a new opening month for its first off-Strip (find it in Summerlin's Boca Park) location -- late January.
Bier Garten (Plaza)
Once due to arrive in Fremont East this past spring, its website now proclaims an opening of fall 2013. They've got just over six weeks to make that happen. A collection of stores and restaurants all based in either shipping containers or Xtreme cubes has been a dream of Zappos mogul and downtown visionary (too strong?) Tony Hsieh for quite some time so, when he took to Facebook last week to answer general questions (on Halloween no less), you can guess what this writer asked:
Openings / Vegas Delays / Rio Las Vegas / VooDoo Zip Line / Ziplines / Attractions / Fun Vegas / Construction / Vegas Fails / → All Tags
We’re still waiting on Rio’s new VooDoo Zip Line. Originally scheduled to open in August, VooDoo’s most recent projected opening date was early November. Confident that this time they finally got it right, we made a trip over to Rio to have a look (and catch a little WSOP action). What we found didn’t surprise us, but left us disappointed once again.
For a zip line that is supposed to be opening right now, there’s a discouraging lack of line upon which to zip. The latest construction update is full of flashy cuts featuring people using tools, telling us that something is happening, but what? Where are the ride vehicles? Where is the zip line’s line?
If you were hoping to score a bit of extra fun for the holidays with the Vegas return of GameWorks, we've bad news. Yep, another Vegas delay to report. But, this one almost seems as if it were destined to happen.
Vegas Delays / Construction / Openings / Delano Las Vegas / THEhotel / MGM Resorts / Mandalay Bay / → All Tags
While we've got our suspicions about this property actually happening thanks to the dubious history of Delano's parent company Morgans Hotel Group, however -- according to MGM Resorts -- the Delano will open sometime next September or October. That's nearly a year later from the initial opening date set for the hotel.
It's hard to believe (read: it's really easy to believe), but we all won't be able to do our holiday candy shopping at Hershey's Chocolate World.
This sweet Strip addition is destined for New York-New York as part of a multi-million dollar project that will also bring changes to sister hotel, Monte Carlo, as well as to the land between the two. Originally promised to debut "this winter," Las Vegas Advisor has learned that its opening has been pushed back to "spring 2014." Not surprising considering Double Barrel Roadhouse at MC was due to open by New Year's Eve, but pushed that back several months as well.
Vegas Delays / Openings / Downtown / Downtown Vegas / Neonopolis / Banger Brewing / Drinking / Bars / Fremont Street / → All Tags
The microbrewery-slash-bar, still a work in progress in Neonopolis, is the dream of a group of guys who met while working at Bellagio. A once hoped for debut of March, however, has been pushed back, and back. And, back. Just last month, the plan was to be open by, well, now, but that's since been delayed to mid to late November. (Probably, the last week of November, according to Facebook. So, yeah, maybe look to December, but we'll remain hopeful for November.)
