Have a desire not to dress slutty during your weekend trip to Vegas? First, we must say we applaud that decision. After recently spending a Saturday night in Encore watching the scantily clad trainwrecks escape from XS at three in the morning, barefoot, with Steve Madden knock-offs in hand, pulling at their too-short Forever 21 dresses and leaning on a plant to hold their balance, we're decidedly over the cheap and slutty look.

Secondly, we're here to tell you where you can go to find some stylish but still sexy retro looks--Bettie Page in the Fashion Show Mall.

You May Not Be Elaine Wynn But You Can Act The Part With This Bag

October 1, 2009 at 8:06 PM | by juliana | 0 Comments

Judith Leiber makes all sorts of crazy/cute/questionable crystal clutches for ladies of the night. And we mean, the types of ladies of the night who have opera tickets or are hosting a charity's gala or have red carpet events to attend. In other words, Elaine Wynn.

While we would bet (heh) that Elaine already owns this Lucky 17 Roulette Wheel bag, the point here is that we do not. And we'd like to. The only problem? It's $3,995. But there is some hope.

Kings of Douchbaggery Wear Fedoras

September 9, 2009 at 4:27 PM | by markj | 0 Comments

Driving down the road with your new Broner fedora in the back getting psyched for your weekend jaunted to Vega$? The good news is you will fit right in on the Vegas club scene of 2009, however, there is some bad news -- fedoras on guys in clubs are not the sign of a dude who is going to win a dance off. Although, while these fedora wearing guys might not know any killer dance moves they definitely know the Mystery Method, so ladies expect them to approach and neg you like crazy.

None of this means a guy in 2009 Vegas can't pull off rocking a fedora at a club, sure he can, it just means he should expect that instead of standing out he is going to be fitting right in. Don't going throwing away your new fedora, just wear it with ephemeral pride so you can look back at your Vegas photos in the not so distant future and say, "yup, I was part of the Vegas douchbaggery". Someone cue the what-happens-in-Vegas line...

Hotel-Branded High-Tops Next Vegas Fashion Trend?

Where: 4321 West Flamingo Road [map], 89103
July 20, 2009 at 4:12 PM | by Erika Pope | 0 Comments

How do you know you’ve made it in Vegas? When someone has created a high-top sneaker just for you.

Stop by the Palms and you might spy a staff member or two outfitted in the new Supra X Palms Hotel high-top, branded with the purple-and-green Palms logo and tagged inside with the letters “J. GRAY,” after Jon Gray, assistant to Palms President George Maloof.

Urban footwear maker Supra only produced 23 pairs of the shoes in a limited-edition run. That means, unless you’re tight with Maloof’s No. 2 fella you’re unlikely to score any. According to the LV Weekly, DJ AM and Jay-Z are among the lucky ones to be shod in the flashy shoes.

The shoes were Gray’s surprise birthday present from the manufacturer who, it’s safe to assume, hopes the gesture leads to a bigger branding deal with the Palms. No word yet on whether the special Supra Skytops will be coming to the Palms gift shop any time soon, though.
