A return to the website at 1 p.m. PST found that, yes, reservations are finally being accepted via DoubleTree. After poking around the site, room rates appear to start at $59 a night. It's no surprise to anyone that the Tropicana is still, umm, finding its way, not to put too fine a point on it. Everything is new again there, but everything is constantly changing there, too, with a roller coaster of openings, closings and returns.

Earlier this year, there was a rumor eating its way around town that Bagatelle would not only bring a beach club-slash-supper club-slash-nightclub to Trop, but -- eventually -- a hotel as well. Now, there's another new whisper circulating through Vegas folks in the know -- that DoubleTree is taking over hotel operations at the Trop.

We heart one so much that it pained us to write something disparaging. Another gives us naked experts, poolside. While another yet impressed us despite being not too fancy.
