Everybody must get stoned, Bob Dylan once famously sang. The same sage wisdom could apply to many a visit in Vegas. Sometimes, after getting drunk, gambling, losing money, drinking while losing money, seeing a show, losing more money, drinking away sorrows at an eardrum-shatteringly loud club, and waking up with your head in a toilet while housekeeping persistantly pounds away at your room door, a little mellowing of the harsh is the right fix, at the right time. Unfortunately, among the legal vices available in and around Vegas - prostitution (in certain parts of Nevada), gambling, and open-container drinking - possession of the sticky icky isn't one of them. And on that note: somewhat difficult to get your hands on if you're not a local. Until now. See, what you didn't know is that Vegas is a dedicatedly weed-smokin' town. Atone For Your Sins On The Strip

It was once said that Las Vegas has more churches per capita than any other city. While this eyebrow-raising stat can’t be verified (and we don’t think umpteen church-shaped wedding chapels count, anyway), it’s true that there’s no shortage of houses of worship in Sin City.

Take Guardian Angel Cathedral, the seat of the area’s Catholic diocese. It’s prominently positioned next door to Wynn and Encore and even survived Steve Wynn's attempt to buy it so he could tear it down and build a parking garage for his resorts. Even though he offered to build a cathedral for them elsewhere, the church declined.

A Primer for Smoking in Las Vegas

Don’t get us wrong, with its “classy” topless shows, strip bars a-go-go and general encouragement of hedonism for the masses, Las Vegas still earns its “Sin City” designation. Smoking, however, is one vice that has been restricted in recent years owing to the 2006 passage of the Nevada Clean Indoor Air Act.
