The Simpson Sisters Descend on Wet Republic for Ashlee's Birthday
The weather may be cooling down for the rest of America but in Vegas, the pool party scene remains hot. Or at least lukewarm. "Lonely" Us Weekly cover girl Jessica Simpson will be in attendance at Wet Republic tomorrow to celebrate her sister's, Ashlee Simpson-Wentz, birthday.
The official website also mentions "and family" will be in attendance so definitely expect Papa Joe and Mama Tina but no word on Pete Wentz. You can put yourself on the guestlist here or make a pricey reservation.
Room rates at the MGM Grand are currently going for $195 a night. However, we spied a deal on The MGM Grand's Twitter feed that has rooms for tonight and tomorrow at a bargain rate of $99 a night that includes a $25 food and beverage credit and another $25 to use at the spa. We say book it, because you shouldn't overpay to see The Simpson Sisters.

P. Diddy Returns to Host Wet Republic's Pre-Fight Party
Have you perused our recent Dirtiest Pool Scenes story? Wanna experience the dirrty for yourself? One of the scenes on our list, Wet Republic, is throwing a massive party on Saturday before the Floyd Mayweather Jr.'s comeback fight against Juan Manuel Marquez. The host? P. Diddy.
Word is the event will sell-out so guests should arrive early if they want to get in. As with all pool parties, money talks. But the seating options are expensive. A small daybed starts at an insane $500. A large daybed is $750 and a cabana is $2,000. A bungalow is a whopping $3,500. Just attending the party will cost men $40 and ladies $20.

Jon Gosselin’s Vegas Pool Party (and His Mother) Are Now Behind Us
Looking for all the world like the born-again frat boy he so clearly yearns to be, Jon Gosselin schlepped the blue carpet at his party at Wet Republic wearing an untucked shirt, khaki shorts and flip flops.
We’re breathing sighs of relieve over here that the most scandalous thing he was seen to do was ”chain-smoke, chug bubbly and watch the poolside bacchanalia.” Well, that and the fact he dragged his mother, of all people, along for the fun. Really, Jon, you think your mom wants to see you embracing your new D-list, bachelor lifestyle? We doubt it.

Does Jon Gosselin's Pool Party Make Him the New K-Fed?
According to a report by TV Guide, Jon & Kate Plus Eight star Jon Gosselin has been tapped to host a party at Wet Republic on August 29. Turns out he’ll be in town for the fall MAGIC fashion trade show with BFF, Ed Hardy designer Christian Audigier (it was Audigier’s St. Tropez-docked yacht where Jon was first snapped canoodling with the 22-year-old “fiancee” Hailey Glassman).
Somehow, never before has the name “Wet Republic” struck us as kind of well, icky, but the thought of the famous father of multiples sweatily ogling the eye-candy from a well-stocked cabana makes us a little bit queasy.

Lindsay Lohan to 'Dance Under the Vegas Sun' at Wet Republic This Saturday
Dear Lindsay. We've lost all hope for you. Even after our big brother Jaunted put together a nice list of vacations to heal your soul, you've continued with your wild, late-night partying ways. We can't be for certain that you are drinking vodka out of those ever-present water bottles in your hands but let's just say, we wouldn't be surprised.
Still, all eyes will be on whatever it is your imbibing this weekend as you host a pool party at Wet Republic at The MGM Grand. Yes, we know it's your 23rd birthday and all but really? A pool party in Vegas? After two trips to rehab? (The real place, not the party at the Hard Rock.) At least, we give you credit for doing some daytime drinking. Perhaps you will get home at a decent hour then.
Meanwhile, rates at the MGM Grand are pricey this weekend as are several hotels in Vegas. Rooms at MGM Grand are starting at $305 a night. Ugh and we thought Vegas was supposed to be cheap these days.

Strippers, Thongs and Burgers: Just Another Weekend in Vegas
Las Vegas seems quiet this weekend. Maybe it's all the CineVegas hoopla which is giving people something entertaining to do indoors in the comfort of AC aside from the usual gambling and eating. Still, the pool parties are the best places for debauchery on the weekend in the summers and if you don't want to miss out, here's what going on:
· Strippers at Ditch Fridays: Not that you don't see enough scantily clad bodies here, but Ditch Fridays at The Palms is celebrating Spearmint Rhino's 10-year anniversary. If it's not too late for you to call in sick, head to the Palms to ogle strippers in bikinis.
· Wet Republic is clearly trying to give the Hard Rock's Rehab pool party a run for its money with the first annual Thong and Dance on Sunday. If you don't want to spend money on lap dances, we suggest you check this event out, because there will be women in G-strings here.
· Bare Pool is having a Backyard Barbecue. If you're a local or VIP guest, enjoy free hot dogs and burgers while you have fun in the sun. If this sounds tamer than the rest, it's not. Remember, Bare is The Mirage's topless pool.

AC Slater To Show Off His Abs at Azure at The Palazzo
Apologies for the pool-heavy coverage today but it's Summertime in Vegas and the pools are where the action is.
We just wrote about the top three pool parties to hit up when you visit Vegas but this weekend, you might wanna look around. Over at Azure at The Palazzo, Mario Lopez (aka AC Slater from Saved By the Bell) is hosting the pool's official grand opening party tomorrow at 11am. If you want to see Mario shirtless in person, you better arrive early.
At Tao Beach at The Venetian, DJ Steve Aoki will be spinning during the pool's Sunset Sessions this Sunday.
And right now at Wet Republic, Shwayze and Cisco Adler are hosting Wet Republic’s Hot 100 Voting Party. (See VegasBill's live Twitpic.)
If you’ve been in tune these past few weeks, Wet Republic has been looking for Vegas’ 100 hottest locals, and it’s the finals of the finals. Don't know who Shwayze and Cisco are? What It Really Costs To Stay Dry at MGM Grand's Wet Republic
How do the hot girls in all the pictures at pool parties stay looking so hot in the extreme heat? Their makeup never smears from water, they're never sweaty, and they're in the hot desert sun the whole time.
Answer: they periodically go back to their shady cabanas and recharge with fresh drinks while they powder their noses.
If you're not into the whole sweating your makeup off at Vegas' hottest pool parties, it might be a good idea to invest in a cabana or bungalow so you can keep cool in the shade. Wet Republic, one of the top pool parties in Vegas at the MGM Grand, has cabanas, bungalows and day beds to choose from, and while they're pretty expensive, they come with amenities and a separate VIP pool and jacuzzi area. Something to think about when you're shelling out this much cash.

Three Pool Parties You Shouldn't Miss in Vegas
With summer pool season at full tilt frenzy, a lot of folks don’t want to hassle with the crowds at the pool parties on Friday and Saturday. Instead, book a late Saturday night flight into Sin City and plan to pool-hop on Sunday, when the experience (with the exception of Hard Rock’s Rehab Sundays, according to our insider) is just as good. Sunday pool parties are usually filled with more local industry folk (read: notorious late risers), so if your bikini clad bod arrives before noon or 1 p.m. you should be golden and get right in.
