Don't Get Too Excited When the Check Comes at Max Brenner
While you’re in the mood for food, thinking about Restaurant Week, our minds drifted to the nice brunch we had at Max Brenner the other week. Specifically, the surprise that you get when it’s time to pay.
When we asked for the check, it was presented in a pretty tin box saying “money for life, chocolate for the soul”. The inhabitants of our table promptly got all excited that Max was slipping us some chocolate with the bill, but alas, no, it was just the check.
To be fair, you’ll probably have consumed so much chocolate as part of the meal that an extra choccy drop with the bill could actually push you over the edge.
Move on, people.

Brunch at Max Brenner Isn't All About the Chocolate (But the Chocolate's So Good)
It’d be remiss of us to leave you on a bad food-related note when it’s coming up to lunchtime, so to redress the balance of our poor meatloaf experience, we present to you: Brunch at Max Brenner, A Yummy Experience.
Yes, we hit up Max Brenner at the Forum Shops last weekend to see whether we would eat the finest brunch in Vegas, as they’d promised. The verdict? We’re never ones for superlatives (unless we’re talking about the wunderbar Tom Lowe) so we won’t say that. In fact, we wouldn’t say it was spectacular, but it was very, very nice.

We Like Good Food and We Like It Cheap. Thankfully, Sushi Roku and Boa Have Our Backs

We've been a couple of busy bees this summer scouting out the Best Budget Hotel Rooms in Vegas for you but while saving money on your room frees up your budget for other things like Chippendales, souvenir drinks and Elvis t-shirts gambling, drinking and eating, that doesn't mean you still need to pay full price for everything.
Fortunately, over at Sushi Roku and Boa inside the Forum Shops, we won't have to park it outside a food court to have a sensibly-priced meal.
That's because both restaurants have introduced a "Summer Breaks" pre-fixe dinner menu for $45 per person that includes a starter, entree and dessert. You only have to decide whether you want sushi or steak. But at these prices, if you're feeling particularly flush you can have both!
The menus are available nightly through Labor Day weekend. Keep reading after the jump for the menu descriptions.

Max Brenner is Ready To Break Chocolate With Us
What, no Holly Madison? No official proclamation of yesterday as Official Max Brenner day in Vegas? How very odd.
Either way, Max Brenner opened yesterday in the Forum Shops and Mayor Goodman was there to help The Bald Man cut the ribbon. Or, in this case, the massive slab of chocolate. With a hammer.
Time to go for a work out and then get straight down there, no? Happy Friday.

It's Never Too Soon To Dress Your Kid Like Elvis

And where else to buy him or her their first Elvis jumpsuit? In Las Vegas of course!
If you believe your kid is the reincarnation of Elvis or if you just want to scar your child for life photograph your kid in a funny costume, head to Kid's Kastle at The Forum Shops where you can pick up a white, sequined jumpsuit similar to what The King wore during his 70s performances in Vegas. The outfit even comes with a pair of gold sunglasses.
Oh and when we say it's never too early to dress your kid like Elvis, we are serious about that because this costume comes in sizes as small as 0-3 months. The cost of dressing your kid like mini-Elvis? $98. The look on his or face when you embarrass them with the photos of this at their Sweet 16 birthday party? Priceless. (Don't worry, they'll think it's cute by the time they turn 30.)

Prepare For a Sugar Coma: Max Brenner Opens Tomorrow
Max Brenner and his beans
Yet another reason to love tomorrow (as well as free knickers and English eyecandy): it’s the opening of Max Brenner’s new flagship store in the Forum Shops. At 10am, Mayor Goodman will come along to declare the store/restaurant/chocolate temple officially open (and most likely declare it Max Brenner day or something), and after that, you’re free to fill yourselves with sugar and cocoa beans to your heart’s content.
The menu is huge (see it here) but luckily (for us, mostly), on Monday we were given a sneak preview of what’s on offer by the bald man himself. We only sampled the sweet stuff (there’s a whole savory menu too, and they also said they have ambitions on the title of the finest brunch in Vegas) but we sampled a lot of it.
Our verdict? In short, we’d say if you already think you’ll like it, you’ll love it. And if, like us, you’re as yet unsold and worry that it could be tacky and nasty, you’ll be far off the mark, and hugely pleasantly surprised. This is no irritating, famewhore-endorsing, faux penis lollipop-licking Sugar Factory. This is a classy joint.

Holly’s World Recap: Birthday, Boobs, and Motorboating
Holly and Angel ask Who Let the Boobs Out?
Holly’s World returned to its regular time slot last night and we’ve got the rundown for you. This week started out with Holly and Angel shopping for lingerie at La Perla in the Forum Shops. One very lucky cameraman was invited into the dressing room as Holly tried on several under garments. The conversation turned to boobs and Holly says she wants to buy some for Angel’s birthday. Two minutes in and this week was already better than the non-spooky spooky road trip of last week.
After wearing out pause/rewind, we made it through the rest of the episode to recap:

Max Brenner Chocolate at The Forum Shops Will Open on August 5
Max Brenner signage, snapped last week
Hurrah! We finally have an opening date for the Max Brenner, Chocolate by the Bald Man restaurant will open on August 5 inside the Forum Shops at Caesars Palace.
The restaurant, the first devoted entirely to chocolate, will have 9,400-sq.ft. of chocolate space as well as 200+ seats in the restaurant, a full bar with additional seating and a private room for special events. And don't forget, there will be oversized white vats of chocolate flowing into pipes running throughout the spaceand counters and shelves overflowing with huge chocolate bricks, pralines, candies and cocoa beans.
The restaurant will be located across from the former FAO Schwarz where a huge new H&M Store will open later in the fall. Hmm...we advise going to Max Brenner after you've done your clothes shopping.

New York Institution P.J. Clarke's Coming to The Forum Shops This Fall

Vegas bound!
There's a lot of change going on at Forum Shops at Caesars Palace this summer. Aside from getting the largest H&M in North America, the largest Max Brenner shop in the world and uh, a Christian Audigier store, the Forum Shops will also get a new restaurant---PJ Clarke's.
It is indeed an outpost of the legendary New York restaurant founded 125 years ago on 3rd Avenue and it will be the first PJ Clarke's outside of New York.

H&M to Open Largest Store in North America at The Forum Shops
Queuing up for the Comme des Garcons collection at an H&M in Los Angels a few years ago.
We're not so sure Vegas needs another H&M Department Store but if they are going to add a third location in Sin City, then it might as well be the biggest one in North America.
Las Vegas Vegas (the blog so good they named it twice?) reports that H&M will take over the old FAO Schwarz spot inside The Forum Shops at Caesars Palace. And it will be massive--50,000-sq.ft. in all.
While we're not so crazy about the everyday gear that's sold at H&M (simply put--it never looks as good at home as it did in the fitting room) we do go ga-ga over their limited edition designer lines like the ones from Sonia Rykiel, Roberto Cavalli, Jimmy Choo and Comme des Garcons, for which we actually woke up at 6am to queue in line outside the store.

Marc Jacobs at The Forum Shops Now Has Limited-Edition Vegas Shirts

We may have a bit of a documented obsession with all things Marc Jacobs so please excuse our excitement over this post. (Don't worry Banger, it is Goss-free!)
The Marc Jacobs store in The Forum Shops is now selling a signature t-shirt with a special Las Vegas shout-out. The shirt features a limited edition graffiti design on the front and MJ702LV on the back. And it can only be bought in Las Vegas at The Forum Shops. The costs is $28 which is actually two dollars less than a silly Caesars Palace t-shirt. (And the front photo kinda reminds us of the bathroom at Double Down, which makes it doubly cool. Pun intended.)
If you're keen on the 702 bit but not the Marc Jacobs logo, you can always hit up MikeJames clothing for their sweet 702 t-shirts instead.
A back shot of the MJ t-shirt is after the jump.

Take Lady Luck Home With You...On Your Wrist

Finally, there's a pretty souvenir for ladies to take home with them after a trip to Vegas. No more rooting around the shelves at Bonanza for something half-way decent and no more settling for resort-branded gear. Instead, pop into the Tiffany's store at the Forum Shops and have your high roller buy you the one-of-a-kind Lucky Charm bracelet.
The charms include a lone die, a Tiffany shopping bag, an Ace of Spades card, poker chip, horse shoe and the iconic blue Tiffany box. Now, usually we think charm bracelets can be a little too cute but we instantly want this made-for-Vegas one. Our only problem is we're going to need our own dose of luck to buy this Lady Luck bracelet. The price tag? $1,295. Sigh.
Tiffany's is located near the Fountain of the Gods and is open from 10am to 11pm Sunday through Thursday and until midnight on Friday and Saturday.
