We Got Totally Uncork'd This Weekend
This weekend we took in the annual smorgasbord of food, booze, more food, and celebrity chefs that is Vegas Uncork’d. We discovered new dishes and revisited old food favorites all while mingling with friends also both old and new.
As we finish digesting our third Rick Moonen moondog, we highlight five of our favorite moments from the weekend:

'Garden of the Gods' Package Includes Pool Credit and Sunscreen But No Gossy Gear

Only four more days until Caesars Palace Garden of the Gods opens for the Summer 2010 season. For those of you who have been GTL-ing like good boys and girls you should take advantage of the hotel's special Garden of the Gods pool package which includes a three-day, two-night stay along with a $25 pool credit (for food, drinks, merch and cabana rentals) and a pool bag stocked with a towel, a water bottle, sunscreen, lip balm and our fave, a Caesars Palace visor. Goss fans will have to find their own ways to incorporate Matt Goss poolside.*
The package says room rates start at $110 a night but as with everything in Vegas, weekends are way more expensive, about $360 a night. We were able to find a midweek rate of $130 a night in April but finding the $110 rate is going to be a bit of a struggle. On the bright side, it looks like Memorial Weekend is not yet sold-out so book now.
Use code PKGCGOG when booking and use the Garden of the Gods website as plugging the code into the main site does not work.
*And now, we promise to take a good, long break from Matt Goss.

Next Week, 'Garden of the Gods' Will Open and Aria Will Pour Some 'Liquid'

We cannot promise that when you play swim-up blackjack at Caesars that good-looking folk like these will be there.
Better hit the gym and book your spray tan appointments as the Vegas Pool Scene starts to heat up again next week.
Caesars Palace will open its Garden of the Gods pool "oasis" on March 19. If you plan on hitting up this scene, plan to spend a lot of time here, i.e. pace yourself with those bloody marys.
There are now eight pools to frolick in, spaced over three levels and remembering their names will require some careful memory tricks.
There is Fortuna (known for its 18-foot waterfall and swim-up blackjack); Apollo which has maximum sun exposure; Bacchus which is available only to invited guests; Neptune considered the social hub, best for singletons; Jupiter which is the one place people might be able to relax and enjoy spa services from Qua Spa; Temple which is considered to be the family spot and lastly, Venus which will open on April 1 and is a part of the PURE nightclub. Venus will also be the best place to avoid children as only guests 21 and older are welcome.

'Garden of the Gods' New Pool Collection to Open in March

Sorry, we're a little heavy on Caesars Palace coverage today! It was by accident!
The thought of sitting poolside, soaking up Vitamin D, preferably with a fruity cocktails and rocking tunes is so not our reality right now in the dead of winter. We count the days until temperatures warm up, at least in Las Vegas, so we can get our sun-worshipping fix.
Luckily, come this March we’ll have five new pool options as Caesars Palace debuts its new "Garden of the Gods." Before you snap to any Colorado Springs hiking conclusions, these five multi-layered pools – Apollo, Fortuna, Jupiter and two side-by-sides known as Bacchus – are an entirely different beast. No sweating, hiking boots or hydration issues necessary.

Swim-up Blackjack Part of Caesars Pool Renovation
Soon surfacing at Caesars Palace’s renovated and expanded Garden of the Gods pool oasis: a special pool exclusively for swim-up blackjack.
And only swim-up blackjack. The attraction — a centerpiece of a six-table gaming pool — will be named Fortuna, after the goddess of good fortune. It's scheduled to open with other portions of the renovated pool complex in time for Labor Day Weekend, on Sept. 5.
Caesars spokespeople are still relatively tight-lipped about the new addition, bur rumor has it that the pool will be rimmed with an 18-foot waterfall. Casino officials have said they’ll use the remainder of the city’s long swimming season to test various offerings in the Garden of Gods oasis, including table limits, and hours of operation.
At this point, however, odds are that at least some of the dealers will be women wearing bikinis. When in Rome, right?
