Hotel32 is Not Good for One-Night Stands

We're in need of a room for one night in Vegas next week so we thought we'd do it at Hotel32, the ultra-sleek boutique hotel atop the not-so-sleek Monte Carlo. But if you look at the rate calendar above, Hotel32 is totally not down with one-night stands.

Every weekend in October and at least two weekends out of every month through June 2012 are showing No Arrivals on Fridays and Saturdays, meaning you've got to book at least three nights in order to sleep here. Only in July 2012 did we finally start to see some open dates for a Vegas one-night stand.

Still, if you can stay during the week, rates are actually quite reasonable, around $200 a night and that includes a dedicated suite assistant, separate check-in away from the MC fray, pre-stocked minibars and access to the Hotel32 lounge with its drinks, food and views of CityCenter. Oh and how could we forget? Those sumptuous Kiehl's toiletries.

Clearly, Hotel32 makes it worth it for you to love them long time.

If All You Ever Learned About Las Vegas Was Through Facebook

Earlier this week, we shared a Facebook faux pas by Luxor and it got us thinking, what would our view of Las Vegas be if it only came from Facebook?

We decided to surf around Facebook to find out. (Hey, anything for the job.) Here are six new things we learned:

1. The execs at Flamingo Las Vegas see Luxor's Sisqo flashback and raise them with Boyz II Men (with a 100 percent different fan response). The R&B group will perform at the hotel for four weeks beginning December 14. Facebook reaction was entirely positive ranging from "love it" to "could you book them again in April."

Flamingo is also touting the debut of their new food court with such venues as LA Subs and Johnny Rockets.

Sitting On Top of The World In a Hydrotherapy Tub

We've talked a lot of big game about the Hotel32 atop the Monte Carlo and indeed, big money is what you will need to stay in one of the hotel-within-a-hotel's penthouse suites. Approximately $1,000. So you should take advantage of the hydrotherapy tubs that are in the suites. These tubs will massage you every which way and even offer up some in-tub mood lighting. Aaaaaah.

Checking In On Hotel32 at The Monte Carlo

Hotel32 opened in August atop the Monte Carlo and aside from touring the suites and rooms and chatting with a family that spent a night there, we really haven't heard much about how these boutique rooms are doing. So we decided to check out the reviews on TripAdvisor.

Upon first going to the review site, we noticed that a traveler's photo of herself is actually slotted as a photo of the hotel. Um. Disregard. We have plenty of photos here.

Looking further on the site, there wasn't much to add as there are only three reviews on this page. However, the second reviewer while loving the Hotel32 rooms felt that the Monte Carlo casino was lacking, especially in terms of beautiful people. What? Lance Burton is not sexy?

But it was good to know that the Hotel32 does live up to its promise of airport pickup and a dedicated Suite Assistant. Room rates are holding steady at $250 a night for a small Studio suite.

Inside Hotel32's New Must-Book Rooms at The Monte Carlo

Yesterday, we gave you a quick rundown on what to expect inside Hotel32 atop the Monte Carlo and today we're giving you some room porn to admire as well as a video of the Studio rooms (see above.)

Whatever your thoughts are about the Monte Carlo (so-so casino, lack of cool restaurants or nightclub), staying at Hotel32 is an entirely different experience than staying in rooms on the 31st floor and under. A dedicated suite assistant, bypassing the long lines at check-in, pre-stocked minibars and access to the Hotel32 lounge with its drinks, food and views of CityCenter are just some of the perks you receive while staying here. And speaking of housekeeping cart kleptomaniacs, Hotel32 features Kiehl's bath products. Aaaaaahhh.

However, all rooms are not created equal here. Heck, all rooms don't even look alike.

Hotel32: The New Must-Book Rooms in Vegas

Alright so scratch everything we wrote yesterday. Hotel32 is indeed open and fully functioning. It even hosted its first guests last night and this morning, the folks at MGM Mirage invited us in today for a tour of the rooms. After checking out a few different rooms, we feel comfortable saying that they are, without a doubt, the new must-book rooms in Vegas.

As we've told you before, Hotel32 is located on the very top floor of the Monte Carlo. Before the fire of 2008, the 32nd floor was only open to high rollers, big gamblers and VIPs. But after the fire, the hotel decided to gut the entire floor and create from scratch, all new luxury rooms.

Thankfully, the Monte Carlo just didn't pick some anonymously modern decor and run with it. These rooms look quite pretty and are filled with tons of design details throughout. There are three types--penthouse suites (which come in either 1 bedroom or 2 bedroom configurations with pool tables), loft suites (slightly smaller than the 1 bedroom suites) and the studio suites which, despite their name, looks like regular hotel rooms.

That's a studio room pictured above and which starts at $250 a night.

Hotel32 at The Monte Carlo Opens Today...We Think

Today is the day that the Monte Carlo is to unveil their new boutique hotel within a hotel, Hotel32, which is found at the very top of the hotel on the--you guessed it--32nd floor.

We skulked around the MC yesterday trying to find any signs of life on this "exclusive" new experience which is to feature tricked-out rooms, a private entrance and an express elevator, among other things.

Here's what we found: In the lobby, a space to the very left of the check-in counters was closed off with dark black drapes and a sign in front said, "Exit Closed." We did a quick peek behind the curtain and saw that nothing was in there--no furniture or anything--but there was a Hotel32-esque framed print on the wall. (It looked like the rug pattern shown in the video on the hotel's website.)

Hotel32 Will Open Inside The Monte Carlo on August 10

We've been wondering what will be inside the new Hotel32 within the Monte Carlo and it looks like we'll get the chance to experience it all on August 10 when the boutique hotel within a hotel opens.

From the press release:

When you arrive through the grand porte cochere at Monte Carlo, a Suite Assistant will be waiting to personally escort you to HOTEL32 via a private, express elevator, accessible by key card only.

No check-in desk here; you proceed directly to your retreat and check in privately within the comfort of your room, leaving those registration lines behind. The Suite Assistant will provide a tour of your room’s features, amenities and services, ensuring you won’t miss out on even a moment of indulgence, from the 12 pillow offerings to the popular Nintendo Wii.

What is Hotel32 at the Monte Carlo All About?

The answer is, we aren't quite sure. Previously, the 32nd floor of the Monte Carlo was a sort of VIP/concierge floor for the hotel's important guests. But after the hotel's damaging fire last year, MGM Mirage decided to do some extensive renovations on the rooms on this special floor.

In fact, they've gone all out and have already begun branding the top floor as an entirely separate hotel called Hotel32. Think of it as a boutique hotel within a hotel like THEhotel at Mandalay Bay.
