M Resort is Giving Away Money (Kinda)

Where: 12300 Las Vegas Boulevard South [map], 89044

While we've been seeing more than enough players clubs decreasing benefits, but M Resort's iMagine Rewards players club is doing just the opposite.

iMagine is offering a bonus to its members through a Facebook promotion. All M Resort Facebook fans (new or old) can receive 2,500 free points on their iMagine Rewards Card. These aren't points that will help you achieve a better status card, but these points may prove more immediately useful if you're not a regular at the resort.

Where To Eat, Drink and Jig For St. Patrick's Day

March 7, 2012 at 4:52 PM | by | Comments (0)

What Holsteins will be serving up this St. Patrick's Day.

Pairing St. Patrick's Day with Las Vegas already has the makings of an unforgettable holiday. If you can remember it. This year, St. P falls on a Saturday in the middle of March Madness. Aside from being face down outside a Dublin bar in a pool of what we hope is beer, we can't think of anywhere else we'd want to be this St. Patty's Day. On second thought -- March Madness opening weekend? Sorry, Dublin, you just fell to second place.

It's going to be hard not to stumble into a bit of the wearing o' the green and a bunch of drinkin o' the booze anywhere on the Strip. But, if you're a planner, there's plenty o' food and drink specials to pencil into your green itinerary. Just don't blame us if your tongue isn't the only green appendage Sunday Monday morning.

Get Your Mardi Gras On In Vegas

February 9, 2012 at 7:32 PM | by | Comments (0)

If those college buddies haven't yet committed to trekking to Mardi Gras this year, the New Orleans trip probably isn't happening. That doesn't mean it's time to resign to Google Imaging for body paint and bead pics with one hand while sucking Doritos off the other. Which reminds us we did not miss those commercials this year.

Spending Mardi Gras in Las Vegas is more than catching Rio's Show in the Sky, streaking through The Orleans, throwing back jello shots at any of six Vegas Fat Tuesday locations, or heading downtown to Mermaids and La Bayou to start your Mr. T bead collection. That's just the first few hours of the trip, kids.

Las Vegas has more in store, letting us get more than our fill of Mardi Gras -- and rich, fatty foods -- around February 21 this year:

The Last Cards Have Been Dealt At The Silverton's Poker Room

Where: 3333 Blue Diamond Road [map], 89139
February 3, 2012 at 5:42 PM | by | Comments (2)

After writing about Fitzgeralds closing its poker room last week, we learned that Silverton was closing their poker room as well.

While not many tears seem to have been shed with the closing of the Fitz room, people seemed to enjoy the small, yet fun poker room at the Silverton. After reading more reviews, it seems as if more locals enjoyed playing at the nearby South Point and M resorts. The poker room at Red Rock Casino always seems busy with locals, too, so we may just have to chalk these closures up to demand.

Which Would You Rather: A Free Tee or 5 Bucks in Free Play?

January 27, 2012 at 2:05 PM | by | Comments (4)

We know, but cash is not an option here...

We recently signed up for M Resort's players club, iMagine, and were presented with a conundrum upon signing up.

At the end of the process, the representative asked us if we'd like a free iMagine t-shirt or $5 in free play. To nobody's surprise, we took the $5 and put it towards one of their video poker games. M Resort has a pretty wide array of games which we were happy to see.

Fiery Flames, Live Music, And Lion Dances, Oh My: Year of the Dragon Roars Onto The Strip

January 18, 2012 at 3:03 PM | by | Comments (3)

The botanical displays of Bellagio and Palazzo are known for being picture perfect, but both hotels have really outdone themselves for the Year of the Dragon. This Chinese New Year, the Palazzo doesn't just feature a 128-foot, 8,000-pound dragon. It features a 128-foot, 8,000-pound fire-breathing dragon that took more than a year to make.

See the mythical creature (pictured above) come to life (shown below) every day at 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. from January 23 to February 5.

When you do stop by, Palazzo says it's lucky to walk around the dragon three times, clockwise. Even more so (for them) if something from one of the nearby shops catches your eye.

Ever Wanted To Turn Your Bedroom Into A Las Vegas Resort?

January 4, 2012 at 5:00 PM | by | Comments (2)

VegasChatter recently awarded its Most Memorable Moment to the furnishings sale at the Sahara. Well, if your camel lamp is siting lonely and feeling out of place, and you'd like to turn your bedroom into a casino hotel suite, we have some tips to make any home into a four-star vacation spot. Everything in your hotel room might be for sale. Just ask the front desk. But, in most cases, they've already thought ahead and are happy to let you take home a little, or large, piece of the hotel experience. Just don’t start charging friends and family resort fees.

Spa Mio Goes BOGO For Black Friday

Where: 12300 Las Vegas Blvd. South [map], 89044
November 7, 2011 at 12:21 PM | by | Comments (0)

What's even more relaxing than getting a spa treatment? Knowing you're getting another one... for free. Spa Mio at M Resort will once again offer steep discounts for Black Friday.

$50 gift cards will be priced at just $35 while retaining their full value. Spa products will be on sale at prices starting at $5 each while others will be buy one, get one half off. The biggest incentive to spaahhh, however, will be buy one, get one treatments. The catch, though, is that you'll need to purchase and use the services that same weekend -- any time between Thursday, November 24 and Sunday, November 27.

But, if you're already planning to fight the crowds at the big box stores that weekend, making Spa Mio the last stop on your to do list sounds like the perfect way to relieve that holiday stress. Or, at least the perfect excuse, anyway!

Dreaming about Casino Nirvana

September 21, 2011 at 12:28 PM | by | Comment (1)

When we go to Vegas, we rarely spend time in just one place. This is obviously because Vegas has so much to offer from a variety of properties that each have a unique and different feel. But more than that, it’s because no one place has everything that we like about Las Vegas. To talk about everything we like in a Las Vegas property would take up too much time in your day, so we’ll just focus on casinos. If we could design our perfect casino, these are the pieces would we incorporate from various Las Vegas properties.

Video Poker from M Resort - We love that we can play video poker and enjoy microbrews at the 32 degrees bar at M Resort. Fewer and fewer bars are comping drinks while playing machines at the bar, and even if they do, those drinks are usually bottom shelf booze. At least at 32 degree we can get our microbrew fix while playing a very reasonable 8/5 Jacks or Better game.

What To Do with a Vegas Virgin

August 19, 2011 at 12:59 PM | by | Comments (8)

If you are as into Vegas as we are, then a lot of people in your social network probably know you as that “Vegas guy (or gal)”. They tend to ask you questions for their Vegas trips about what they should do, what show they should see, what club is best, and where to stay. A lot of times these people are Vegas first timers (or haven’t-been-in-a-long-time-ers) and the experience will make or break Vegas for them. But what if, instead of advice, they want you to go with them?

This happened to us recently. A couple friends decided: “hey, we should all met up in Vegas.” On the surface that sounds great, but neither of these guys have been to Las Vegas before. So what should you do with Vegas virgins?

Venetian and Palazzo Getting a New Playbook

August 5, 2011 at 12:03 PM | by | Comments (0)

A few weeks ago, we learned that Cantor Gaming is taking over the sportsbooks at Venetian and Palazzo.

This was inevitable as these were the first Strip properties (with all due respect to M Resort) to work with Cantor Gaming technology. Now comes word via Facebook that the Venetian sportsbook is being renovated. This is a little good and a little bad.

6 Things Named After The BMOC

July 19, 2011 at 1:33 PM | by | Comments (2)

From dishes to entire restaurants, it's not too hard to stumble upon the favorite eats and places of casino execs -- even if you don't know it at the time. Chances are if you're perusing the menu of a Vegas restaurant and see a dish named after someone you don't know, it's named after the BMOC. Or, maybe it's even the name of the restaurant itself.

The most recent example is Terzetto Restaurant and Oyster Bar at M Resort which recently transformed into Anthony's Prime Steak and Seafood. Anthony as in Anthony A. Marnell III, the president of the hotel. Says a press release:
