VegasChatter's Top Five Vegas Halloween Costume Ideas

October 14, 2011 at 6:23 PM | by | Comments (0)

For those willing to step it up above this... but, not by much.

This Halloween, if you’re tired of the zombie craze or don’t want to be just some slutty (fill-in-the-blank), we’ve got a few options for you -- Vegas-style, of course! And, if you know us at all, you can guess that this won't be a list of the regular Vegas icons: mob men (snore)... showgirls (yawn).. not even Elvis (blasphemy)!

Once you decide what you're going to be, don't forget to check out our complete guide to all the hottest parties to decide where you're going to rock your look this Halloween! And, don't forget to email us a pic!

5. LMFAO’s Red Foo

Everyone knows and loves the boisterous party rocker, and we do, too. Especially because he can frequently be found at Marquee on Party Rock Mondays. Dressing the part is easy: Get a big ass ‘fro. Remove the lenses in your glasses, yo. Squeeze into some animal print pants (leggings, found in most women’s departments will do) and start shufflin’. Every day, as practice.

Fedoras At The Ready, Matt Goss Is Hosting Fashion's Night Out

August 17, 2011 at 1:41 PM | by | Comment (1)

Point us in the direction of the nearest fedora shop will you Matt? Cheers

If fashion is sexy, then Matt Goss is definitely fashionable. He’s also fashionable in the Vegas sense, in that he seems to think that every time he doesn’t wear a fedora, a fairy dies. So yes, Matt Goss and Fashion’s Night Out – why haven’t they thought of this before?

Goss will be appearing at the Forum Shops on Thursday 8 September to crown one lucky person Las Vegas’ Best New Designer. Before that, there’ll be fashion shows around the reflecting pools and, far more excitingly, lots of stuff going on in the various shops. Tarot readings at Eric Andrew Collection, choccies and champagne at Michael Kors, free facials and martinis at Fresh and a DJ/party at H&M are among the activities. The restaurants will be doing special menus too, not that that’s very fashion.

For full details check out the website. btw, last year saw an appearance from Thunder Down Under. We're not taking sides.

How Much Would You Bid on Matt Goss?

August 11, 2011 at 3:05 PM | by | Comments (6)

Matt Goss may be one of the most polarizing acts in Vegas but the fact remains that Bros. fans from the UK people would still pay good money to meet him in person.

Which is why we weren't surprised to see him up for auction as a part of Starwood Preferred Guest's new Artist Experiences.

In a partnership with concert thrower Live Nation, SPG is allowing folks to bid on special experiences with their favorite artists using their SPG points which are earned by staying at Starwood Hotels worldwide.

The experience with Matt Goss will actually take place at the Royal Albert Hall in London on October 21 where the lucky bidder will get to see him perform live and then do a meet and greet. And unlike his Vegas act, he will be doing some Bros songs. BrOMG!

Matt Goss Croons, Vegas Restos Collect For Japan Quake Relief

Where: 3570 Las Vegas Blvd South [map], 89109
March 22, 2011 at 7:30 PM | by | Comments (0)

In the face of horrific tragedy, it can seem trite, even opportunistic, when Vegas restos, shows and personalities chose to publicly do something to show they care. But, we'd like to believe that Vegas can be heartfelt, too, even if a wee bit self-promotional.

With a tragic 22,000 dead or missing now in Japan after a devastating March 11 quake and tsunami, Caesars crooner Matt Goss turned to what he does best to show the depth of his emotion.

Goss' "Song For Japan" posted on YouTube yesterday:

Will These Vegas Show Deals Make You Want To Yelp?

February 8, 2011 at 2:37 PM | by | Comments (0)

With icky W2s showing up in the mail and faux Statue of Libertys (Liberties?) popping up on street corners, hearing about a chance to buy Vegas show tickets at half-off really made us perk up.

Yelp is holding its first so-called "theatre week" in Vegas starting next week and you'll be able to grab a Yelp Seat for 50-percent off.

The good news is that the offer is valid for the show we picked as best in Vegas, Matt Goss. The bad news is that the rest of the show selection isn't quite as A list, but there are still a few that will offer good fun like Mac King, Frank Marino's Divas and Matsuri.

Best Show: Matt Goss

December 31, 2010 at 12:10 PM | by | Comments (3)

Welcome to the first annual VegasChatter Awards! We'll be bringing you the best and worst of what we've seen, done and stayed in this year for the rest of today. Agree or disagree with our picks? Air your thoughts in comments below.

To those of you who think this was a no brainer for us, we say, ye of little faith. This was the hardest category to choose as we’ve seen so many great shows this year. Cheap Trick – sheer brilliance, but sadly shortlived. Vegas! The Show – well, it was great, until they sacked the greatest part of it, and we’re having it confirmed from all angles that Mr Tom Lowe Replacement just isn’t cutting it. So without a decent lead, we aint seeing it.

Five Hot Vegas Girls You Should See

September 17, 2010 at 6:20 PM | by | Comments (5)

Hot girls. Las Vegas is full of them. You spot them at clubs, at pools, walking the Strip with their high heels in hand. Some come in for weekend visits while others star in their very own Strip show. Some are a tee winsy bit surgically enhanced while others are natural (we think?).

We already asked the burning question whether boobies are out of fashion in Vegas. Now we ask who are the hottest unsung Vegas girls? Vegas girls that you can see, meet, greet and admire for yourself. Vegas girls that aren’t huge celebrities but toil for your admiration and respect. The candidate list seems infinite so we unfortunately were not able to screen each and every eligible candidate.

Are These the Five Most Polarizing Vegas Personalities?

July 15, 2010 at 7:54 PM | by | Comments (9)

Girl on the right: He's the love of my life. Girl on the left: What. A. Tool.

As we said yesterday, we’ve been thinking about the most polarizing people in Vegas. We’re not talking about the Holly Madisons of this world, here – no one we know has a bad word to say about her. No, we’re talking about the Marmite people – the folks you either heart bad or hate with a passion. We trawled the internet, we resurrected all the feuds we can remember, and we asked you for your input on Twitter and Facebook. And here’s what we’ve come up with.

Who is Las Vegas' 'Hottest News Chick'?

June 23, 2010 at 7:55 PM | by | Comment (1)

Why it's the lovely Dayna Roselli! Congrats to Dayna for being voted "Hottest News Chick" by the Dave and Mahoney radio show (107.5FM.) She went up against some tough competition from Fox 5's Stefanie Jay, NBC 5's Collete Weiland and also Fox 5's Jason Feinberg. Heh. We're guessing his cats' website probably did him in.

Not only is Dayna "hot" but she's super nice and we think Matt Goss must have noticed this too. He recently tweeted for all his fans to vote for her. Knowing the power of the Matt Goss Army, we can't help but wonder if that swayed the votes for Dayna? Then again, it's the least Goss could do for her after she's already declared herself a big fan.

Now it looks like Dave and Mahoney will award Dayna a trophy of some sort this Friday morning at 7:30am. (Twitpic please!) We just hope that Jason and his soulmates cats Itchy and Scratchy are not taking the loss too hard.

Whose your favorite newscaster to wake up to in the mornings in Vegas? Put your own faves in comments below. (Just not for Jason's cats!)

Hopefully Your Weekend Will Turn Out Better Than Today's World Cup Games

June 18, 2010 at 9:29 PM | by | Comments (2)

Once again The Gossy Room at Cleopatra's Barge was turned into a World Cup viewing theater as England took to the pitch today to try their luck against Algeria.

As it turns out, the Three Lions don't have much luck and there's nothing that chiseled countryman Matt Goss can do about it. The game finished 0-0 and the crowd at the Gossy Room, mostly Brits and shockingly, mostly male, was dejected. Not even a World Cup Trophy ice sculpture could cheer them up, nor the $5 Guinness specials.

England is set to play again next Wednesday at around 7am Vegas time (if we did the math right.) We don't know yet if The Gossy Room will be showing the game that day--especially since Matt doesn't perform during the week--but after learning that Goss is a die hard football fan (he also agreed with us that the US was robbed in their match against Slovenia), we wouldn't be surprised.

Go here for more places to watch The World Cup when you're in town

Where to Watch the World Cup (And Party It Up For England v USA)

June 10, 2010 at 3:14 PM | by | Comments (2)

Engerlannnd! This is the main reason we’ll be watching the World Cup (and yes, we are aware that Beckham isn’t even playing. But he is coaching, so we will see his fine features nevertheless)

Ladies and gents, the FIFA World Cup kicks off (hurhur) tomorrow. For those of you into your footie, you’ll be wanting to know where to watch the games on a big screen. And for those of you not into your footie, think of it as an excuse to drink a lot of beer, get unaccountably patriotic, and ogle fit men of the world running around getting sweaty.

Now, with the ESPN Zone closing on Wednesday, you may feel a bit bereft. Still, cheer up folks. The US of A is playing the Engerland on Saturday at 11.30am (England will win, btw), so it’s the perfect excuse to party it up. Here’s where to go:

Tweet of the Weekend: Matt Goss' Equal Opps Stripping Policy

Where: 3570 Las Vegas Blvd South [map], 89109
May 10, 2010 at 11:44 AM | by | Comments (6)

Many people got trashed in Vegas this weekend, and lots of them told the world about it. So, every Monday we’re bringing you our favourite tweet of the weekend. And don’t forget to follow us at @vegaschatter.

It’s not an opinion we like to air too often, but sometimes, just sometimes, Vegas strikes us as a slightly sexist town. Like when we look at the fat old men at pool parties being pawed by hot little gold-diggers. Or the (old fat) guy we always see at red carpet stuff being accompanied by blatantly hired help. Or, for that matter, any time we think about Terry Fator and his child bride.

Anyhoo, we’re pleased to have learnt this weekend that there is at least one equal opps-friendly man in Vegas. His name? Look away now, Banger and Phoenixarcade - Matt Goss.
