Nightclubs Continue to Push Dubious Celebrity Appearances on Our Beloved City
We here at VegasChatter love Las Vegas with a passion. Everyday, our hearts beat harder and faster for this town and we are quick to defend it against any naysayers out there. (Coughobamacough.) Which is why we are a bit ticked off at JET right now.
Someone over at the nightclub decided it would be funny to hire old person Larry "Pants on the Ground" Platt, he of fleeting American Idol fame, to host on Friday night. While Larry might be a little bit more lovable than the White House Crashers (but only slightly), this is still a joke--at Larry's expense and at Las Vegas'.
"Hey kids come on down to Las Vegas where you can see the latest viral clip of the week in person!" It's like the new circus. What's next? The talking baby from the E*Trade commercials or Thriller-dancing inmates from the Philippines prison? Is this really all that Las Vegas has to offer its visitors?
Personally, we like Larry's message (you DO look like the fool with your pants on the ground) but is he really that popular? Is he really worth comping everything for? And can he even perform live?
