Tweet Of The Weekend: Holly vs. Crystal

June 20, 2011 at 6:54 PM | by | Comments (0)

So, unless you've just now crawled out of your end of the world bomb shelter, you probably know that Crystal Hefner Harris decided to give the ol' Playboy the heave ho last week, choosing to jet to Vegas to party on what should have been her wedding day instead.

What you may not know is that ex-Hefner mate Holly Madison has been going there over the runaway bunny's change of heart, even if Hef himself seems to be movin' on.

When Crystal took time from laying out in the Vegas sun (and partying with Heidi Montag) on Saturday to drop this tweet on fans:

Favorite Vegas Celeb: Holly Madison (And Her Bobbles)

December 31, 2010 at 6:04 PM | by | Comments (2)

Welcome to the first annual VegasChatter Awards! We'll be bringing you the best and worst of what we’ve seen, heard, eaten, and slept in this year for the rest of today. Agree or disagree with our picks? Air your thoughts in comments below.

Too many celebs come and go in Las Vegas, most often within 48 hours. The hottest tabloid figures typically fly in for the weekend, host a party at a nightclub, pose for pics poolside, dine at a restaurant with their entourage then take off back to La la land. Which is why we're so grateful for Holly Madison.

We've been watching Holly ever since she arrived in town to do Peepshow at Planet Hollywood and decided to actually live in Las Vegas while doing the show. Seeing her in the show and watching her appear at seemingly any event on the Strip got us further intrigued. Then this year, our opportunities for Holly Watch runnethed over when E! started airing her new reality show, "Holly's World."

Naturally, having picked up our own Holly Bobblehead, we decided to award Holly Bobbles each week based on how much, er, "attention" she was getting.

The Latest Vegas TV Show Will Be About Gigolos

December 29, 2010 at 3:50 PM | by | Comments (2)

Well, as long as they don’t wear Ed Hardy…

With every cloud, there comes a silver lining. The Rehab reality show may have been canceled, but today, Norm has revealed that there’s a new show for Vegas in the pipeline and, brace yourselves, it’s about gigolos.

Apparently it’s been created by Marklen Kennedy, formerly of the Light Group, and it’ll be an “Entourage-style” show. No word on who the gigolos will be. Actually, do gigolos hang out in casinos as the hookers do, or do they only come out on demand?

Guess that, and other burning questions, will be answered “early next year”, according to Norm. It’ll be on Showtime.

Either Criss Angel Mindfreaked Norm Clarke Or Believe Is Better

December 17, 2010 at 11:45 AM | by | Comments (0)

Norm says he's ok. Could that be true?

If you read VegasChatter enough, you might have noticed that we’re not the biggest fans of Criss Angel. So when we read the news that his Mindfreak store at Circus Circus had closed down, we didn’t think “oh boy”, we thought “oh good”.

However, we might be prepared to mellow just a little bit because our favoritest gossip cop in the world ever, Norm Clarke, went to his show last week and tweeted that it was actually rather good:

Congrats to @crissangel on shows No. 999 and 1,000 at Luxor tonight. We saw a completely different show -- it was YOUR show. U own it.

Brandon Flowers and Lower Room Rates Will Open The Cosmopolitan

Where: 3708 Las Vegas Blvd S [map], 89109
November 8, 2010 at 1:51 PM | by | Comments (0)

It’s little over five weeks from the Cosmo opening now, and while everyone’s been banging on about the New Year’s Eve entertainment, there’s been a little less thought about how opening night is going to go.

And now we’re thinking the answer to that is “pretty well”, seeing as rockstar journo Norm Clarke announced in his column yesterday that Brandon Flowers will do a poolside gig to open the gaffe on 15 December.

According to Norm, tickets will only be available through the Cosmo’s “social media channels”, ie their Facebook page and Twitter account. According to Facebook, we should stay tuned for details today.

Holly Madison Gets Her Cover Out

October 6, 2010 at 11:34 AM | by | Comments (0)

Happy hump day, ladies and (more likely) gents! We know it’s hard to gather up the energy to face the rest of the week, but maybe this will give you a little boost – Stephens Press has just released the cover picture for little Holly Madison’s book.

They’ve also released a little more information about what it’ll all be about.

Madison has access like no author before her to high-roller areas and mansion-in-the-sky suites that are closed to all but a privileged few. In a chapter illustrated by dozens of photos, she leads a virtual tour through the Hugh Hefner Sky Villa at the Palms, the Napoleon Suite at Paris Las Vegas, the Verona Suite (former home of Elvis Presley) at the Las Vegas Hilton and many more.

She also takes a look at the wacky attractions that line the road from Los Angeles to Las Vegas, the peripatetic history of this former desert outpost, the evolution of the Vegas showgirl, the restaurants and clubs that pack the city and all of the activities and attractions, from snowboarding and off-road exploring to roller coasters and pool parties, that make the city so much fun.

In addition, Holly provides behind-the-scenes looks at “Peepshow” and her TV reality show, “Holly’s World,” and provides tips on looking fabulous in the desert, from what to pack to how to keep makeup from melting away in the extreme summer heat.

Holly Madison Finally Gets a Date (For Her Book)

September 27, 2010 at 11:19 AM | by | Comments (0)

In lieu of Holly writing, we present Holly’s hands

We may not be stalking little Holly Madison professionally anymore, but we couldn’t help noticing that, according to Norm Clarke, who tells the 100% truth 100% of the time, she’s finally got a date for the publication of her book!

The Showgirl Next Door: Holly Madison’s Guide to Las Vegas will come out around Valentine’s Day next year. Apparently:

Holly has access like no author before her to high-roller areas & mansion-in-the-sky suites that are closed to all but a privileged few. Her "virtual tour" includes Hugh Hefner Sky Villa (Palms), Napoleon Suite (Paris LV) & Verona Suite (former home of Elvis) at the Hilton.

Who's That Guy Watching Your Margarita Intake At Hussong's?

Where: 3950 Las Vegas Blvd S [map], 89119
September 14, 2010 at 1:34 PM | by | Comment (1)

We said this before about the whole Paris Hilton thing, but we totally have psychic skills. Because we were planning a post for this week on the portrait of Norm Clarke we found lurking at Hussong’s, and then last night the man about Vegas town himself tweeted that it was the 11th anniversary of his LVRJ column. As we said, psychic.

Anyways, in honor of Norm’s Vegasversary, here’s that picture of his portrait. It takes pride of place in Hussong’s, above the TV next to the bar and we were galvanized by it as we drank our margarita.

Happy anniversary Norm! Here’s to 11 more scoopy years, and then some.

Confirmed: Cy Waits is Out of the Wynn Fold, Paris Hilton May Be Banned

Where: 3131 Las Vegas Blvd South [map], 89109
September 1, 2010 at 1:17 PM | by | Comments (0)

Practicing her wave goodbye

So it’s finally confirmed: Wynn released a statement at 10am this morning saying that Cy Waits is out:

Cy Waits has been separated from the company and is free to pursue other interests. Wynn has no further comment on this matter.

Short and sweet. Wow!

Meanwhile the great Norm Clarke in the sky reckons that Paris Hilton could be banned from Wynn and Encore and that Jesse Waits will continue as a general partner in charge of nightclub ops (we too would ditch sibling loyalty in the face of Paris Hilton).

We’re thinking that if Wynn has taken this action so soon, the case against them must be pretty open and shut. Unless, of course, the company is worried about Paris getting chewing gum stuck all over the nice carpet.

Next stop – banning her from Vegas? It doesn’t sound that unlikely, according to People, which reckons she’s unbookable as a club host right now. See, children? Dreams do come true. Bye girlfriend!

You Say Masala, We Say Masala: Where to Score Indian

June 2, 2010 at 3:49 PM | by | Comments (0)

Even the dessert sampler from Origin India includes something we can drink.

If you stalk us as much as we hope you do, you’re probably aware that we’re fans of Norm Clarke and were stoked when he reciprocated the love. So when The Norm recently said he was having “one of the best Indian dinners he’s had” he stirred our curry craving.

So where around the Strip can you tikka yourself for Indian food?
