Matt Goss Aint Your Only Option Tonight

March 12, 2010 at 12:06 PM | by juliab | 2 Comments

The calm before the storm at Jet tonight

Tonight’s a busy night in Vegas clubworld, and to mark it, they’re having another Kardashian-Jersey Shore standoff. Robert Kardashian is celebrating his birthday at Jet, and Pauly D is DJing at Ghostbar at the Palms. The RK hotness or the fist-pumping hot mess – the choice is yours.

If you want to stay clear, Soulja Boy is at Eve tonight (overload – he was at Jet only in January), Travis Barker is at Pure (should be interesting) and Jerome Bettis (oh-kay) is having his 38th birthday party at Tao.

Seem to remember there’s something going on at Caesars tonight as well, but it just slipped our minds.

Looks like Joel Madden enjoyed his DJ stint at the Lavo New Year’s Eve bash hosted by his lady love Nicole Richie. Because less than three weeks later, he’s back.

Nicole and Joel Will Take Over Lavo for New Year's Eve

December 11, 2009 at 8:30 PM | by globetrotting gourmet | 0 Comments

All the stars are coming out for the New Years Eve soirees in Sin City this year. We're kinda surprised that Paris, LaLohan and Brit Brit haven't staked claim on hosting any parties - yet. There's still time and we know these three never pass up an opportunity to kick up their Louboutins in Vegas. Here are three more options to add to your NYE party consideration list:

The Spectacular Spectacular NYE featuring Paul Oakenfold at Rain at Palms. General admission tickets cost $75 (not completely outrageous). Jump to $225 for a host bar from 9 p.m. – 1 a.m. with Ketel One Vodka and Perrier Jouet. $375 will buy you a VIP All Access wristband and express admission to Rain Nightclub, Playboy Club, Moon Nightclub, & Ghostbar. And for an additional Benjamin, you get all of the above, plus the vodka/bubbles hosted bar at all venues from 10 p.m. – 1 a.m., except for Moon Nightclub. Buy your tickets here.

NBA Ballers Will Descend on The Palms for Lakers-Kings Game

Las Vegas routinely hosts NBA preseason games each fall and this year is no different. On October 15, Las Vegas favorite sons the Sacramento Kings (owned by the Maloof family; George Maloof owns Vegas’ Palms and Palms Place resorts) will take on the adored/vilified LA Lakers at the Thomas & Mack Center at UNLV.

Maloof has been conscientious about accommodating the family’s other source of bread-and-butter ever since he opened his trendy resorts. Not only does the Palms feature the Hardwood Suite, complete with a half-court basketball court, but when the Palms opened, it famously offered extra-long beds in select rooms so the ballers’ tootsies wouldn’t have to dangle over the edge.

If We're Gonna Have Heart Attack, Let It Be at N9NE

We have a total soft spot for N9NE Steakhouse at Palms Place. Maybe it’s because we celebrated our 30th there in the company of our fave gal pals before we took on the secretaries who don’t get out enough slash primarily gay audience at The Thunder From Down Under. (Don’t ask.) Six years later, N9NE is still going strong as one of the Strip’s finest steakhouses.

We love it because it’s a solid, we-take-our-cow-seriously steakhouse without the usual stodgy factor. Sure, we can hang with Ruth’s Chris or Morton’s any day of the week in the name of a dry Grey Goose martini and U-10 Chilled Shrimp Cocktail, but we love the almost club-like vibe and stellar sport star and celeb-spotting (Hello Kid Rock, Russell Simmons and most recently, Hulk Hogan and his daughter Brooke look-a-like girlfriend, Jennifer McDaniel) at N9NE.

The Playboy Club is Looking for Some New Bunnies

Where: 4321 W Flamingo Rd [map]
September 25, 2009 at 4:28 PM | by juliana | 0 Comments

It was a pretty ingenious idea to put the Playboy Club inside The Palms because any time Playboy comes in town they immediately head to The Palms.

But we're guessing infrequent visits from Hugh Hefner and his "Girls Next Door" and former playmates like Jenny McCarthy aren't enough for the Playboy Club.

This Sunday, the club is continuing its Playboy Club Calendar Search by selecting its Miss September. Girls who want to join the rest of the pin-ups for the 2009 calendar can enter online or in-person the night of the event. Girls chosen for the calendar will also win a chance to be seen inside the actual pages of a Playboy magazine.

As for the party 411, all ladies can sip on some free bubbly from 10pm until midnight but we don't know if that will help or hurt your chances of winning.

The Dirtiest Pool Scenes in Las Vegas

September 16, 2009 at 5:09 PM | by VegasChatter | 0 Comments

Earlier this summer our big sister site clued you in on the Five Must See Hotel Pools of Summer 2009, so we figured it was time to clue you in on The Dirtiest Pool Scenes in Las Vegas.

For quite a while now one of the hottest trends in Vegas has been the weekly pool parties. These parties draw thousands of people each week and, well, some of them tend to leave things behind, both figuratively and literally. We didn't get our hands on sanitary records, so don't start thinking the pool scenes we detail below are the ones with the most violations.

For these purposes we are defining dirty sordid, sometimes corrupt, and on the edge of unseemly, and *not* filled with bacteria. However, cleaning up after these pool parties and religiously chemically treating your water can only do so much -- spend some time at these Vegas pools on the days we suggest and you will quickly see why these are the dirtiest pool scenes in Las Vegas.
