Three Ways To Spend NYE Under The Stars in Vegas

We've done it a handful of times. Some at our own choosing, others under duress. But, each time we've spent New Year's Eve on The Strip, literally on The Strip, we've had a blast from the people watching to the drunk people watching to the dude, did you just see that guy slug that other dude in the face? In da faaace?!?
It can be cold as hell (once, it was raining), uncomfortably crowded (did someone just rub up on us on purpose?), and painful, too (even when those are your most comfy shoes on your feet). However, the good times always make it worth it in the end. That's why when you're considering just how you're going to spend New Year's Eve in Vegas, you shouldn't rule out the fun that can be had under the stars neon. And, we mean more than filing outside a few minutes before midnight.

It's BYOB On The Strip This New Year's Eve
Just last week we were admiring the Palazzo for planning to celebrate Thanksgiving like the pilgrims did. We were in the midst of looking for our giant buckled shoes when an original option to celebrate the same, old tired annual tradition of ringing in the new year came our way. Sometimes unique puts the party in party-time. This probably isn't one of those times.
New Year's Eve on the Strip is huge. Lots of people, lot of parties. Even fancy fireworks. This NYE offers a party on the move for those that are tired of standing around waiting for the show, like to bar hop, and we'll even say the active, healthy types. It's a BYOB party. As in Bring Your Own Bike.

Three Places To Get Your Drink On For Cheap This Labor Day Weekend

You've got your room (or are at least considering your options), you know where they'll be playing your song and now, the most important part of the coming Labor Day Weekend, where to get your drink on. Here are three places to booze it up while saving a few bucks:
●Cabo Wabo at Planet Hollywood
Drink and food specials September 2-5 include $20 beer buckets (six each of Coors Light, Tecate or Dos Equis)

Red, White And Fill-In-The-Blank, Fourth Parties Are Almost Here

If you're not working on saving up for an epic hangover, Caesars Palace wants to kick off your Fourth of July holiday weekend with a bang. The resort will launch a bang-up fireworks display from its rooftop at 9:15 p.m. on July 3. We're not really sure why July 3 and not July 4, but as long as we can ooh and ahh while we sip oversized novelty drinks, it's all good.
If you're more of a traditionalist, you can catch Fourth of July fireworks on the Fourth of July at five Station Casinos hotels around town. Just be at Aliante Station, Green Valley Ranch, Fiesta Rancho, Texas Station or Red Rock at 9 p.m. that night to take in the show.
Here are some other ways to have a blast in Vegas this Fourth:
●McFadden's at Rio
Red, White and Booze party on July 2
Happy 2 Hours from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. will get you all-you-can-drink for $15
Also expect $2 red, white and blue Jell-O shots & a chugging contest 'cause there's nothing more patriotic than slamming a brewsky

Not only is today finally Friday (yippee!), it's also one weekend away until the weekend we've been waiting forever for - Memorial Day Weekend!
You know when even celebs are saying how amazing it's going to be that Memorial Day weekend in Vegas is going to be spectacular. There are literally a bajillion things happening up, down and off the Strip so make sure you get your sleep in over the next week. There'll be no time to rest during the extended party ahead. Smoke It On The Strip At Rhumbar
Puff lovers can now smoke 'em if you got 'em at the Mirage. No, we aren't referring to anything illegal and we also aren't riding out last week's pickle eating contest.
Rhumbar introduces Puff N' Pulse Thursday nights. While you may not be able to puff the magic dragon, hand rolled cigars and hookahs are available without going to the land of Honah Lee. Toke on the usual flavors of vanilla and mint or branch out with white peach and tangerine dream. Go for fruity overload sipping a Watermelon Smash cocktail while inhaling watermelon hookah.

Where To Catch The Kentucky Derby And Drink Specials, Too

The Kentucky Derby is closing in with nine more days to go. But, you don't have to go to the track to have a winning experience. In fact, being female with a really big (hey, now) hat will get you treated like a thoroughbred in Vegas.
Ladies with extreme hat-itude will be treated to an open bar at PBR Rock Bar during the big race, set for May 7 at 1:30 p.m. PST. Any female with a supersized hat will get free drinks throughout the race. Altho, men, we think if you're ballsy enough to wear one, too, you should ask the Planet Hollywood resto for the same.
McFadden's at Rio will host a "Getting Lucky in Kentucky" party on the 7th which will allow attendees to pony up a few bills to access an open bar. Ladies will need to pay $20 to drink all they want while fellas will need to pay $30. Wear a Kentucky Derby-esque hat here and have the chance to win cash and prizes.

Nom CHiPs With Erik Estrada And 8 Other Cinco De Mayo Fiestas

Erik Estrada. Midget wrestlers. Real Housewife cougar Tamra Barney and boytoy Eddie Judge. If you're looking to get loco on Cinco de Mayo, how about starting at a place that will make you feel like you've hit Crazy Town before you even begin to drink?
Tacos & Tequila at Luxor must have served up one helluva party last year as they're looking to do it all over again this year (with the addition of a, uhhh, tasty? dose of reality).
Estrada will preside over the mayhem once again which will include food and booze offers like $5 shots and $5 Dos Equis. The Half Pint Brawlers (made famous on Jackass 3D) will hype of the crowd and also take on guests filled with liquid courage in how-low-can-you-go limbo contests. Get cray-cray starting at 11 a.m. on May 5.
If that's not enough, here are eight other fiestas for Cinco de Mayo:

The Fastest Three Minutes In Sports

The Kentucky Derby is known as "The Fastest Three Minutes In Sports" and unless you're at the derby dressed all fancy in a suite or big hat the best place to be is Vegas.
We're not much into horse racing for much of the year, but race day for the Kentucky Derby in Las Vegas is phenomenal - especially since it's not the only event in town. Kentucky Derby day is also the same day for the biggest boxing matches every year. This year that fight will be Sugar Shane Mosely vs. Manny Pacquiao, which takes place at MGM Grand Arena.
In the early morning and afternoon, pacific time, we can stop off at a bar or sportsbook to watch all or some of the Kentucky Derby races. Yes, there's more than just one race, it's an entire day of racing. Races will start at about 9am with the main race taking place around 3pm. It's a long day, but one we enjoy especially if the racing is served with a mint julep or three.

Sunday Nights Will Be Magic At Rhumbar, Starting April
Looks like it’s going to be magic at the Mirage come April. Not only is it, of course, the home of our perennial fave, Mr Paul Vigil at King Ink, but Rhumbar is getting in on the act (presumably they saw how well Vigil did) and hauling in their very own magician, Seth Grabel.
As part of their Summer Nights lineup, Sundays will be Circus Sundays promising to “bring big excitement to the Strip-side patio”. Excitement comes in the form of DJ Larry Lynx and Grabel doing tricks amongst the crowd. In fact, it sounds pretty much the same format as Vigil’s much lauded weekend shows.
We haven’t seen Grabel do magic before but we did happen to meet him once as we were both getting freaky with Lior Suchard and he def had magiciany charisma. So we have high hopes for this. The Summer Nights series starts April 4, so Grabel’s first outing will be April 10.

Where To Raise Your Glass on St. Paddy's Day

If the luck of the Irish will have you in Vegas next week for St. Patrick's Day, lady luck will make sure it's a holiday you'll never forget, if you're up to the challenge. Restos, bars and lounges all around town are planning to party hard, and many early, in celebration of the Irish holiday.
At Mandalay Bay, Sin City's newest pub - actually a hodge-podge of old pubs from Ireland itself - will officially welcome its first patrons on March 17. (Although, a soft opening is expected to take place a few days before.) Ri Ra Pub will have 17 beers on tap, 85 bottled beers and 140 whiskey labels to choose from. With the country's only Guinness store located right next door, it only makes sense that bartenders will be Guinness-certified on how to pour the perfect pint which will be served at 40 degrees in a 20-ounce glass.
The pub is a treasure to explore and if you don't go beyond the first bar, you'll be missing out as we found out on a preview tour a few days ago. Wander into each of the pub's four rooms to see something interesting and unique whether it's a gorgeous stained glass mirror salvaged from Dublin's Olympia Theatre where U2, Johnny Cash and others played, or the pub's quaint parlor room that will make you feel like you're boozing it up in grandma's house.

NFL Playoffs Are Here, Now Let The It-That-Can't-Be-Named Parties Begin!

After a whirlwind regular season involving shocking wins and upsetting losses, stunning trades and expected firings, several player arrests, a sexting scandal and even the outing of a foot fetish, the NFL is finally heading into the playoffs season.
And as we get closer to the Super Bowl, you know what that means for Vegas--a rash of announcements about parties happening on February 6 that cannot actually include the words Super Bowl. Instead, restaurants, bars, sports books and sports bars will introduce euphemisms for Super Bowl, such as Super Game, Big Game, Game Day, Ultimate Game Day and our personal fave, Holly Bowl.
Warming up for the Super Bowl, er, Big Game, is Rhumbar at the Mirage which is hosting Playoff Tailgate Parties starting this Saturday, January 8 and continuing through January 23rd.
