Terry Fator Turns One, Debuts New Puppet
Terry Fator turned one on Saturday night. Not Fato himself, obvs – and not even his girlfriend/stage assistant, who’s a baby 21 years old compared to his 44 – but his show.
To celebrate, he debuted a new character – Wrex, a crash test dummy, that’s been put out of business by the Toyota fiasco. Topical – for now, at least.
Here’s a video of Wrex’s debut:

Can One Song Be Worth $15? Matt Goss Hopes You Think So
Please don't disappoint us. Please don't disappoint us. Please don't disappoint us.
This is a very disappointing week for the good guys. First O'Sheas lets us down and now we’re afeared that Matt Goss is about to do the same.
Remember way back when in January, when the Caesars gig was first announced? We were told it was going to be a bigger version than the Palms show: a bigger venue, 15 minutes longer, and four extra songs. That was one of the explanations given when the luscious Johnny Kats quizzed Team Goss on why the show tickets were leaping up from $25 to $40.

Leona Lewis, Mel B and Possibly Sharon Osbourne Are Turning Up For Matt Goss Tomorrow
So as you’ll know if you follow us on Twitter (hint: follow us on Twitter), we went down to Cleo’s Barge this lunchtime to earwig on the Goss rehearsals, along with a load of passers by, before being asked to leave on the orders of Robin Antin (was it something we said?) Apparently, they're "not ready for the public” so we shouldn't be watching (who knew that’s what the word “rehearsal” meant?)

Peepshow May Be Down To One Celeb, But The Crowd Don't Seem To Care
As we told you last week, Peepshow is back at Planet Hollywood. Seeing as they've reduced the two celeb rule down to Holly Madison, we popped over to see if the boobs a-plenty made up for the lack of a Mel B or an Aubrey O’Day.

Donny and Marie: Back Tonight, Plus Extra Shows For April
Marie Osmond is a trooper. Not only are she and Donny back at the Flamingo tonight after missing a mere six shows in the wake of her son’s death, but they’re also scheduling new shows running April 13-17 (which was meant to be their vacation) to make up for the dates they cancelled.
According to Johnny Kats, Marie’s looking forward to working again, finding it “cathartic”. Let's hope so.
Tickets are available for all dates, and cost $99 and up.

Cleo's Barge Finally Gets Her Matt Goss Makeover
Finally. Finally! After all our griping about Cleopatra’s Barge being a) a bit gross and b) not refurbished for Matt Goss’ arrival, we swung by yesterday, when we bought our ticket for the opening night of Goss, to find the curtains up again, the smell of glue and paint in the air, and lots of workmen going in and out with wheelbarrows, carpets and studious looks on their faces. Hallelujah, Caesars. Hallelujah.
By peeking through the curtains and enlisting the services of our Caesars spy, we discovered the following:

Don't Wait For Celine's Return At The Colosseum - Go See Her In Divas Las Vegas Right Now
Cher. Officially amazeballs.
Finally! It’s time for our Divas Las Vegas review. We went to thepremiere last Thursday* to see Frank Marino get his second slab on the Walk of Stars and caught the show in all its feather boa-ed glory.
Now we love drag, we love filthy jokes and we love cheesy pop, so we knew we were going to enjoy this. And it didn’t disappoint.
The show is built as a revue. Marino acts as the MC, and comes onstage to introduce each act. He’s done up as Joan Rivers to start with, and tells some spectacularly filthy jokes; then for each of the “singers”, he comes onstage in a different outfit, tells a couple more jokes and hands over to the performers – of which we counted seven, covering 13 artists. You get your Bette Midler and your Dolly Parton, your Whitney Houston (old style) and your Shirley Bassey, but there are also young ones – Beyonce doing Single Ladies, Madonna’s latest incarnation, Circus-era Britney and Lady Gaga.
And they’re spectacular. The physical resemblance to each is – for the most part – uncanny, their dance routines are spot on and their impersonations are incredible. Our favorites? Britney, obvs, Celine (“at the price you should have paid at Caesars”, as Marino says), Cher (complete with bum tattoo) and Liza Minnelli, who was faultless. The set is skeleton, and there are only a few dancers to jazz it up, but the impersonations are so good that you don’t notice for a minute.

Peepshow's Back Tonight, But The Only Celeb Boobies On Show Will Be Holly Madison's
We have good news and bad news. The good: after its hiatus, Peepshow is back today with the lovely little Holly Madison at its helm. The even better news: Aubrey O'Day is gone. The bad news: there’s no celeb replacing her.
We, of course, were hoping that our beloved Mel B might surprise us all and get her cans out as the Peep Diva one more time, but it’s not to be. The part is going to be played by Cheaza (us neither), who was previously one of the “sexy Peepshow singers.” Cheaza, we’re sure you’re wonderful, but we were really hoping for a famous rack to gawp at. Damn that recession.

How Does Caesars' Matt Goss Package Stand Up?
No sniggering at the headline either, please
It’s T-11 days now to the glorious Goss debut. Excited? We are. So much so that our hands trembled this morning as we opened the first window on our Goss-advent calendar. (Kidding. Kinda.)
Guess who else is excited? Caesars. So much so that they’ve refurbed Cleopatra’s Barge finally got round to launching their Matt Goss package. The Gossmeister told us this was planned in January, and we’ve been hounding them for details ever since. And on Friday, they finally released it. Progress!

The Case of Cleopatra's Barge Gets Curiouser and Curiouser
Yup, that's how small the stage is. And yup, that's totally open to the public. We might not be paying for our ticket after all
OK so. Just what on earth is going on with Cleopatra’s Barge? After we posted our pics of the renovations going down, the Harrah’s blog responded yesterday by posting some pics of a sphinx being jazzed up in preparation for Matt Goss’ arrival.
(Our first question – Gary Selesner said that the Gossy Room refurb would make Cleo’s “a little less Egyptian, a little more retro.” How is gilding a sphinx making it a little less Egyptian?)
Anyway we popped by yesterday evening and were amazed to find the plastic sheeting taken down, no discernable hookers present, and a sexy band setting up. The lounge looked no different (although the Harrah’s blog is right, the sphinxes are def a bit shinier) but we could see no other discernable difference, and a pair of shiny sphinx boobies doth not a Gossy Room make. Had Caesars done a miraculous, four day, invisible to the naked eye refurb?

Will Cleopatra's Barge Be Ready In Time For Matt Goss?
During our stay at Caesars this weekend we had a few opportunities to note the progress on the Matt Goss show. As well as the t-shirts that we tweeted about, we also had a peek at Cleopatra’s Barge. Don’t forget, Caesars Pres Gary Selesner had said at the launch that they’d be refurbing it to be “a little less Egyptian, a little more retro.”
Well, we’ve been keeping an eye on it since that announcement back at the end of January, and not seen anything happen. But on Sunday, we spied a lone ladder propped up against a wall. And last night, we went by again to find some curtains closing it off.

Best Thing About Viva Elvis? The VE Shop
Spend your money with these nice people, not at the Box Office
As you might have gathered yesterday, we weren’t the biggest fans of Viva Elvis. But one thing we forgot to put on the “what we liked” list yesterday, is the VE shop.
We checked it out back in January, and it was fantastic. Of course, it has every Elvis CD, t-shirt and bit of kitsch you could possibly want, like the Memphis-made cashew crunch Elvis used to eat at Graceland:
