Conan and Tracy Morgan Want You To Get Your Vegas Laugh On
It’s been exactly a week since Conan O’Brien announced his Legally Prohibited From Being Funny on Television tour, so we’re pleased to see that although some venues have sold out, the Vegas leg still has seats available – including the cheap ones. We say “cheap” – we mean “relatively cheap” – they start at $75, and go up to $150. Book them here.
Last Friday, they added another show at the Palms, so you can now choose between Saturday May 1 or Sunday May 2. Both start at 9pm, so there’s plenty of time to fit in your May Day drinking around them.

Tweet of the Weekend: When Pauly D Met Holly M
Many people got trashed in Vegas this weekend, and lots of them told the world about it. So, every Monday we’re bringing you our favourite tweet of the weekend. And don’t forget to follow us at @vegaschatter.
Normally we’d rather quote from normal folk than slebs for our tweet of the weekend, but today we thought we’d use Pauly D (@DJPaulyD) from Jersey Shore – partly because he’s half normal folk, half sleb, but mainly because he summed up Vegas in one word:
Yesiiiiiirrrr!!!!!
Seeing as it was about the picture above, we can’t disagree with that. He already was given the key to the Playboy Club on Friday night. Guess we’ll be seeing him back soon, then.

What Goes On in The Palms Suite When The Jackson Kids Come To Town

The Palms is definitely not our first choice for a kid-friendly hotel in Vegas but when Michael Jackson is your father, we're guessing no one is reading any "Best Scenes in Vegas for Families" type of stuff.
But when the Jackson kids hit up The Palms over Thanksgiving (remember, they also stayed there last August), they had someone film a Cribs-style video of the suite. Showbiz411 reports that the kids were "romping around" their suite (the Hardcourt Suite).
Really, it's just a poorly lit video following one of the Jackson kids (not Michael's) around the suite as the dude behind the camera creepily chimes in with.."Mmm...I like that." Also, we think that's Blanket running around in the background.
Then again, we can't blame these kids for going crazy over their suite. That is EXACTLY what we would do, video tour and all.

JWOWW to Celebrate Her Birthday at Moon (Possibly on a Bike)

More Jersey Shore peeps are coming to town! The Situation was just here celebrating the Sugar Factory opening at the Miracle Mile Shops where he hands-down out-celebbed Holly Madison, Kendra Wilkinson and our beloved Mel B. But guess who's next to take on the Strip...er, slightly off-strip? J-Woww. Check out this poster for her birthday celebration at Moon on Saturday, February 27.
Considering that JWoww has Playboy aspirations, maybe she'll make some friends at the Playboy Club, also at The Palms. At the very least, she can learn some new poses just by going to the bathroom.

Jay-Z To Brush Some Dirt off His Shoulder at The Palms on March 27

Fact: Music stars like to record their music at the recording studio at The Palms (Um, we'll overlook that little incident with Ali Lohan tho.) The LVRJ's Doug Elfman is now reporting that Jay-Z is set to do some live shows at The Palms' Pearl Theater which will also recorded and released on iTunes. Jay-Z is set to play on March 27 with Trey Sonz and Young Jeezy. Tickets start at $159. Go here to book.

Matt Goss is Moving to Caesars (Also, We Lurve Him)
Talk about a Vegas transformation
UPDATE: thegossyroom just tweeted that there's going to be a "big announcement" at Caesars on Thursday. We. Can't. Wait.
The reason we went to see Matt Goss at The Palms on Friday? Retro amusement. See, back when we were growing up in 1980s England, Matt was one half of Bros, the pre-Take That Take That of their time. And although we were never Bros fans (Jason Donovan was the only blond we had eyes for in 1988), we thought it would be funny to see what Matt was trying his hand at now. Plus the $25 tickets seemed like a worthy investment for a classic Facebook status update.
Anyway, this morning we’d like to formally apologize to Matt Goss. We’re sorry we laughed at the “crazy Americans” forming a queue 40 minutes before the show started. We’re sorry we sniggered as we went in to find the lounge had been christened the Gossy Room. And we’re really sorry we spat our drink out mid-guffaw when our neighbours told us they’d heard Matt was a “huge star” back home. (With the best will in the world, he's really not.)
We take all of it back, because Matt Goss was amazing. Incredible. The best show we’ve seen so far on the Strip (and we, as we were informed yesterday, tend towards the highly critical).

The Palms Needs To Update Their Twitter or the Universe Will Collapse

The Palms may have Lady Gaga singing "Poker Face" for their newest commercial but they have seriously let their Twitter feed fall by the wayside with the last update happening on November 10th.
Dearest Maloof Boys, don't you know that Twitter is the only thing that keeps the earth spinning around? If you stop Twittering, then you will cease to be relevant. Ok, not really but that is the attitude we've heard some snake oil salesmen social media consultants take on these days.
Still, in a Twitter-happy town like Las Vegas, letting a month go by without updating is not good. Here's how a few other Vegas Twitter feeds are doing it and yes, they're doing it frequently:

Palms is Singing Mum Mum Mum Mah Poker Face
We need very little encouragement to have the p-p-poker face mum mum mum mah poker face lyrics to Lady Gaga’s “Poker Face” stuck in our head and have a feeling it’s just gonna to get worse when The Palms Casino Resort unveils (or “unviel” according to the sloppy typo in the headline of the press release sent by Palms' PR department. Tsk tsk.) its new TV commercial featuring the Grammy nominated hit single, “Poker Face.”
We admit; we do love the collaboration of these two Las Vegas powerhouses, although we wonder how much mileage the Palms is going to squeak out of its exclusive rights to the hit single “Poker Face” for a TV commercial and online.

The Other Las Vegas Palms: A Warning on Sahara

Being English, we’re always excited by your weird American roadside signs – but we thought this one, which we spied driving down Sahara, was pretty special.
To be honest, we never associated Vegas with mortuaries or cemeteries. We thought the nearest this place gets to rites of passage is with the chapels and the batchelor party packages. We thought Palms here meant Playboy bunnies and Matt Goss. Now we know different. Job done.
So thanks for appealing to our common sense, Palm Mortuaries. From now on, we’ll be cabbing it of an evening.

What You Find Inside The Barbie Suite at The Palms May Surprise You

We were totally a Barbie girl (in a Barbie world) growing up. We had the corvette, countless Kens, the pleather carrying case and a wardrobe that would make Paris Hilton’s pretty little blonde head spin.
So, while we think all the themed suites at Palms are swell (especially if you have gobs of money to spend), we’re especially tickled by the Barbie Suite. Kinda like a real life Malibu Dream House, the spacious, 2,350 sq. ft. suite was designed by Top Design judge and fifty percent of the design world’s most famous gay twosome, Jonathan Adler.
Once you get over the initial shock of Pepto Bismol pink in all its estrogen-fueled hues, the über-girlie accents are pretty cute and clever. We giggled like a school girl at the sight of the lace-up corseted “dress” chairs, the shoe patterned wallpaper, and oh yes, the kitschy sunburst mirror made from 65 reproduction 1959 Barbie dolls.

The 90s Continue to 'Be Back' with Offspring Concert at Rain

Is this how our parents felt when the 70s suddenly became cool again in the early 90s? Yes, the 90s continue to be popular in Vegas as the old "Self-Esteem" group, Offspring, is all set to perform at The Palms at Rain on November 4th. You can get yourself on the complimentary guestlist here.

We Once Didn't Know Who Matt Goss Was, But We Definitely Know Him Now

Globetrotting Gourmet had an intimate encounter with Matt Goss the other week. Here's her story.
Until about three weekends ago, we'd never heard of Matt Goss. Someone six degrees separated from The Palms told us that he'd sold some ungodly number of records back in Britain (as in double-digit millions back in the 1980s when he was in Brit boy band, Bros), but still, the name Goss didn't ring any bells.
Bad girl, bad girl because Matt Goss sure rang our bell at his Matt Goss Live From Las Vegas show, which is showing in The Gossy Room at The Palms. Goss' recent resume doesn't suck either--after his stint as a hunky boy bander, he turned soulful songwriter and penned the main song for Fox's "So You Think You Can Dance" and the hit single "Change Me" for Keri Hilson and Akon.
Goss steps, snaps and slides his way through the hour or so-long performance, weighing heavily on Rat Pack-y originals, interspersed with snappy (and oddly unexpected) covers like "Hotel California." We love the intimate lounge venue with old school cocktail service, but admit, we expected total cheese--nothing less than synthetic orange, spray-from-the-can variety--and were completely and pleasantly surprised.
