The Palms To Mark Last Easter With Bunnies, But WiFi is Now Included in Resort Fee

Where: 4321 West Flamingo Road [map]
April 5, 2012 at 6:48 PM | by | Comments (11)

It's been a tulmutuous year so far for The Palms with a bunch of management changes and most notably the coming departure of Playboy Bunnies and the Playboy Club.

But, you'll be happy to know that WiFi is now include in the hotel's resort fee. Previously, Internet was a la carte and all you got for the resort fee was a $15 daily drink credit at any casino bar. However, there is a catch.

The resort fee has been bumped up from $15 to $20. And, it's still a bit trickily displayed. The hotel's website doesn't even mention the resort fee until you put in your name and credit card info. It's not listed on the description of taxes nor on the hotel's FAQ page. Even more of a bummer, the resort fee only covers one device per room. So if you and your lover roll up with two laptops, someone's getting dinged an extra $14.99.

'Limo's Are Here!': The Pauly D Project Premieres

March 30, 2012 at 6:01 PM | by | Comments (2)

Last night we finally got to see what it's like to be Pauly D, when he's away from the bad influences his friends down the Jersey Shore in MTV's first episode of the "Pauly D Project."

The show largely follows Pauly D and his posse--Biggie, Jerry and Ryan--through his residency in Las Vegas at The Palms which is kind of AWK because Pauly is no longer at the Palms but rather at the hotel's arch-rival, Hard Rock. We also get to see how Pauly D does it when he's at home in Rhode Island.

The verdict? While Pauly D is one of the most likeable Jersey Shore-ites, this show falls flat. It's practically boring. We could only mildly get it up when we saw the suite that Pauly was put up in during his DJ "audition" (it was one of those bi-level Fantasy Tower suites with its own pool. Pauly's comment: "I got 10 bathrooms, I could shit all day.")

The man responsible for breeding Bunnies, Hugh Hefner, has finally admitted the club's closure on Twitter. Yet, he also said that the Playboy Club would be returning to Vegas in a new location.

The NHL Awards Will Return to Vegas, But Not To The Palms

January 30, 2012 at 8:02 PM | by | Comments (0)

The NHL Awards will return to Las Vegas.

An extended partnership with the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority will bring the awards back to Vegas for the next three years. The ceremonies first came to town in 2009. There is a change, though, to this year's show. The NHL goes for an upgrade moving from the Pearl Theater at Palms to Wynn. Specifically, the show will be held in the Encore Theater on Wednesday, June 20.

The NHL Awards leaving Palms marks the third major event leaving the hotel this year with the AVN Awards leaving for the Hard Rock and Playboy Comedy Club exiting to perform at Paris Las Vegas. While the move from Palms may be seen as jumping ship it's possible that the NHL has grown in popularity and ratings to the point where the awards show brings more value to the hotel and thus a higher price tag.

Playboy Jokes Are Out But a 'Jersey Boy' Is In At The Palms

Where: 4321 West Flamgino Road [map]
January 9, 2012 at 6:50 PM | by | Comments (0)

The Lounge at The Palms, once home to Matt Goss and the Playboy Comedy Club, is now boasting the addition of another fedora lover--Rick Faugno and his One-Man Show -- to their winter line-up.

Faugno might not be the most recognizable name in Las Vegas (or even one of the top 10 recognizable names here) but he does have some serious talent as he played the strenuous role of Frankie Valli in "Jersey Boys" at The Palazzo. Think of those high falsetto notes!

After he left the show for good in October, he took his song and dance act to the Shimmer Cabaret at the casino hotel formerly known as the Las Vegas Hilton. But without the Hilton name to hang his hat on, it looks like Faugno high-tailed it out of there to head for the cooler vibe of the Palms. Also, Johnny Kats reports that Faugno will be compensated better at The Palms.

Don't Be Our (Top) Guest

November 16, 2011 at 1:59 PM | by | Comments (0)

A couple weeks ago, we received a nondescript text email from Top Guest advising us that they would no longer be partners with Caesars Entertainment beginning today.

Top Guest linked with our Total Rewards account to give us 50 rewards points each time we used Foursquare to check into a Caesars property. We also have Top Guest linked with some of our other memberships programs. Why not get bonus points for something we do, anyway? Since we linked Total Rewards with Top Guest we haven't returned to their website, but this morning we noticed that Top Guest is now offering 500 MLife tier credits for checking in.

Palms Accused of Bunny Cruelty, Fired Bunnies Speak Out

November 11, 2011 at 1:52 PM | by | Comment (1)

Fired Palms Playboy Bunnies stepping out from the shadows.

After a week of wondering, we have our answer -- The Palms did, indeed, fire all of its Bunnies.

You wouldn't know it from going to the hotel's Playboy Club, though, because Bunny scabs are already in place behind the tables. Go to the Palms website and be just as clueless that the ladies looking at you so seductively were all fired. Forced to turn in their tails, ears and cuffs with no notice, no true explanation. Told not to bother applying for any other position at the Palms. And, warned that if they talked to the media, they'd be blackballed in the industry.

Vegas' Big Fight Weekend Wasn't Just Between Mayweather and Ortiz

September 19, 2011 at 1:26 PM | by | Comments (0)

The drama. The suspense. The incredulity. This weekend's big fight is still the talk of the Internets, but we're not talking about the battle between Mayweather and Ortiz at MGM Grand. No, we're talking about the dust-up between Ray J and Fabolous over at the Palms.

Apparently, it all started with a couple of joke tweets by Fabolous a few days ago that had Ray J as a punchline. When the two crossed paths at the Palms last night, Ray J threw out some punches of his own.
