The Trop Wants You To Party Hard: 10 Days For $999
Ooh, the Trop is going from strength to strength at the moment and it keeps pumping out awesome deals. In fact, we kinda wish the renovations would never end, as we’re pretty sure they’ll raise the rates once the works are completed.
The latest deal they’re offering is something we’ve never seen before: the Trop Party Pass, bookable from now until September 14. You pay $999 plus tax up front, and in return you get 10 nights in a revamped, Strip-view room – $9.99 resort fee included - plus a VIP check in.
You don’t have to spend the 10 nights consecutively, and you don’t have to stick to one room, either – you can use your allowance up over multiple rooms (hence they’re selling it as a bachelor party/girly weekend deal). Best of all, there are no black out dates - you simply have to use it up by December 28.

Facebook 'Dislikes' The Trop's Plans For a New Ceiling
Good morning! And what a lovely one it is. Were sitting here at our computer, sipping on a cup of tea and stalking our crushes on Facebook – just a normal day at VegasChatter Towers.
As we were doing this the other day, we couldn’t help noticing that one of our crushes was teasing us with some sexy new photos. That’s right – the Tropicana, that feisty little madam, was posting a surgeon’s mockup of how she’s going to look after her surgery.
How will she look? Not too much different to how she’s looking right now, to be honest – apart from we can’t help noticing that that pit floor ceiling looks rather different from the beauteous beast that’s up there now:

Tropicana Wants To Reward Social Butterflies
We love that Vegas casinos are getting a bit more social with us. And they aren't stopping at Facebook polls, self-righteous re-tweets of a guest’s epic stay over the weekend, and special Twitter room rates. Planet Hollywood dares CityCenter guests across the street to get connected by advertising their Facebook and Twitter accounts on the PH billboard that lights up the Strip side of the MGM property. Golden Nugget stepped up the game and gave Facebook users an alternative to Farmville by branding a “build your own casino” game.

Brad Garrett's Comedy Club Is Worth a Trip, Even Without Brad Garrett
It’s taken us a while, especially given our status as Trop-lovers-in-chief, but we’ve finally got round to paying Brad Garrett’s Comedy Club a visit.
Last time we saw comedy at the Tropicana, we weren’t too impressed with Paul Rodriguez, so we’re pleased to report that our faith in the place and its GSOH has been restored by the BGCC.
A note to those of you in the wilderness who, like our friend we took, assumed that “Brad Garrett’s Comedy Club” meant that Brad Garrett was performing comedy every night: he doesn’t. He made an appearance when it opened on June 28, he popped up for a secret gig a few weeks ago, and he’ll next be on stage 17 August to kick off Locals’ Week (according to the Trop website there are only $64.90 VIP tickets left for this night).

The Tropicana Gets Sexier Every Time We Visit
A plea to the Trop: PLEASE don’t get rid of this stained glass ceiling. PLEASE DON’T DO IT.
Yesterday’s eyecandy: Mr Tom Lowe. Today’s: The Trop, as it gets ever sexier. It’s been a while since we drooled over its rooms, but when we popped by this weekend, we couldn’t help noticing that the casino is shaping up as nicely as the Paradise Tower.
It’s still a work in progress but now you can definitely see the shape things are going to take. And we like. We like a lot.

Confirmed: Tropicana to Include Internet in Resort Fee on Aug 2.

Some great news this Friday! The Tropicana has made good on their promise to include internet access in the resort fee and the service will go into effect for stay from August 2nd and beyond. Woot! Previously, internet was an extra $12.99 a day.
Now, the other week we were keeping it cool about this news because typically when hotels roll internet into the resort fee, the fee jumps up quite a bit. But The Trop is only increasing the fee by $2 to $9.99 AND they are adding a few more perks. Here's exactly what the resort fee includes as listed on the The Trop's website:
High speed wireless internet, free access to the fitness center, pool & Jacuzzi areas, 2-for-1 signature cocktails in Bacio or Legends with your meal, 2-for-1 cocktails at our "Club Trop" Daily Happy Hour, free local calls, free faxes, free photo copies, free printing of boarding pass.
Awesome! We're still not in love with resort fees but we do love it when hotels make it easy for us. Best of all, the Trop has some of the nicest cheapest rooms on the Strip. Also of note? You can rent a refrigerator in your room for just $25 a day. Do with that what you will!

The Five Best Budget Hotel Rooms In Vegas
Sometimes, appearances can be deceptive. When it comes to the rooms, that is. Not the casino. Shudder.
Reader Santony may not agree with this, but we at VegasChatter are all about the bargains. But how do you tell if dealz really are dealz? How to differentiate between a $27 room at Excalibur and a $25 gaffe at Imperial Palace? Should you write off Hooters for being Hooters? And are the Rio “suites” actually places you’d want to set foot in?
Reader, we share your pain, and not just because on our first trip to Vegas we ended up at the Stratosphere. The other week, we were watching the poor souls making their way around IP when we shacked up in the room of hell, and it made us think: wow, if you didn’t know Vegas too well, you’d think that all cheap rooms in this town came with grimy mirrored ceilings and suicidal impulses on the side.
So to save you from popping into CVS for some razor blades, here’s our list of top budget hotel rooms in Vegas. We've shacked up in a lot of dross in order to sift out some goodies. You’re welcome.

Tropicana to Include WiFi in Resort Fee But Will The Price Go Up?

A few weeks ago we had our fingers crossed in hopes that The Tropicana would roll its internet access fee into its $7.99 resort fee. And it looks like The Trop is seriously going to do it.
Their latest Tweet about it yesterday teased:
It's looking like our WiFi incl. in Resort Fee dreams may be coming true sooner than I thought! Keep y'all posted as we get closer!
We've already pestered them for a more specific timeframe of when we can expect this--By Labor Day? Next week?--but we have to assume that the resort fee will increase ever so slightly if they roll in the internet fee.

Keep Cool This Weekend at the Cruzin' Cooler Rally
With a heat warning issued for Vegas this weekend, people are coming up with crazy ways to keep cool like the 1st Annual Cruzing Cooler Rally being held all weekend long at The Tropicana.
What's a cruzin' cooler? Well, it's essentially a motorized scooter with a cooler on it and you are expected to fill up that cooler with frosty adult beverages as well as wear scanty Wonder Woman-esque gear. But let us allow cruzin' coolers to describe what's so cool about this rally:
· The Rally is absolutely free to everyone, no admission!
· You can test drive coolers free!
· There are frosty cold adult beverages available all day long!
· You can witness the largest collection of motorized coolers in the world! A world record!
Ok, now if you test-drive one of those coolers, you must take a photo and you MUST send it to us. The rally will be happening Friday-Sunday from 10am to 7pm in front of The Trop.

Fingers Crossed: Looks Like the Trop Will Ditch its WiFi Fee
If there’s one thing we loathe in Las Vegas, it’s resort fees - closely followed by charges for WiFi.
So although we heart the Tropicana’s new rooms, our adoration is slightly tempered by the $7.99 resort fee and the $12.99 charge for internet. Or at least, it is for now. Because it looks like pretty soon, WiFi will be included in the resort fee.
According to their Facebook page, the Trop has just done a deal with Cox to provide
free-to-guest cable television, video-on-demand services and wireless Internet connectivity to 1658 guest rooms.
Free WiFi? We’re waiting for the peeps at the Trop to confirm the good news officially, but from what we hear, that’s the plan. And given that it already has a solid Twitter and Facebook presence, it’d only be fitting that they recognized the importance of internet connection.
Now if they could only work on bringing down the resort fee (under a fiver would work for us), our love would grow a little bit more.

Brad Garrett Wants You To Laugh At The Tropicana Again
The new face of comedy at the Tropicana. We're scared not to laugh.
If you’ve been following along, and we hope you have, you’re aware that the Tropicana has undergone some big changes over the past year. We love the new rooms, for one. Some of the new entertainment, however? Not so much.
The Trop takes another stab at winning over our entertainment budget when Brad Garrett opens up his very own Comedy Club June 28. The new club takes over the old Comedy Stop last run into the ground by Bobby Slayton. Garrett says he’s looking for an Old Vegas feel by focusing on the customer. We presume that means solid service and not yanking customers out back for a good ol’ talkin’ to.

What Exactly Does the Sexy New Trop See in Paul Rodriguez?
If you have eyes, and your gush detector’s been switched off, you’ll have noticed our lust at first sight of the new Trop has been growing. Even staying over didn’t quell our ardor.
But just like we’d suddenly seen our hot crush in the daylight and without a protective alcoholic veil, we had a little shiver of doubt when we went to see Paul Rodriguez last week. Had we been looking at the Trop through rose-tinted glasses? Because the showroom (RIP Wayne) was packed full of old people. We were sandwiched in between a couple from Cleveland who could have got better acquainted with the concept of toothpaste, and some old Vegas locals who complained so furiously that we were sat at the back that the usher gave in and moved them forward.
So the atmosphere wasn’t majorly conducive to laughter, and the humor – well it was ok, but neither Rodriguez nor his cohorts wangled any belly laughs out of us. The old folk seemed to like Rodriguez and Shayla Rivera, who was actually pretty good, but Gene Pompa and the MC guy didn’t go down so well. It was also way too long, at nearly 90 minutes.
